摘要:
A bench-scale single-screw extruder was identified using recursive multivariable least-squares and extended least-squares algorithms. A second-order, discrete multivariable process model having nonminimum-phase characteristics was obtained. The extruder was then controlled using two multivariable self-tuning regulators: a quadratic algorithm and a state-space eigenvalue-placement algorithm.

摘要:
A problem of controller design for systems described by linear discrete-time models, with a known bound for the approximation error introduced by state equations, has been solved using necessary conditions for saddle-point equilibrium of a two-person zero-sum linear quadratic game. OL and OLF control laws have been found, and an algorithm for their calculation has been proposed and tested.

摘要:
The paper considers the building of a stochastic model to describe the dynamics of dissolved oxygen and biochemical oxygen-demand concentrations in water streams. The water stream is divided into several reaches and the dispersion between the reaches is considered by treating the concentration of each pollutant advected across each interface as the output of an interface dynamical system. A method is proposed for identifying the model and the interface system's dynamics. The proposed procedure is applied to obtain a dynamic model for the water quality in Åbu-Qîr Bay, Alexandria, Egypt, using actual data; and a prediction of the water quality levels is made with the model.

摘要:
The paper presents a method for designing a model reference adaptive control system for a class of multivariable deterministic bilinear systems with dynamic interconnected single-input single-output subsystems. The adaptive algorithm guarantees the asymptotic stability of the error between the plant output and the reference sequence, using no anticipative value of the plant output and unknown plant parameters.

摘要:
A weighted minimum variance controller for nonlinear systems is obtained in the paper. If the system is represented by a Hammerstein model, that is by a single polynomial nonlinearity in cascade with a dynamic linear block, the resulting controller is very simple to calculate. Amplitude constraints may easily be placed on the optimal control signal variations, and the controllers are suitable for use in self-tuning control systems where the exact form of the nonlinearities and dynamics are unknown.

摘要:
The aim of this paper is to present some new results concerning two-dimensional system theory. We consider a two-dimensional discrete linear model with varying coefficients. The model is a generalisation of the Roesser two-dimensional model with constant coefficients. Some useful properties of the new model are examined and an example of an application of the model to the analysis of dynamical systems is given.

摘要:
Data is first passed through a moving average filter before the plant dynamic parameters are estimated. An implicit minimum-variance self-tuning control scheme is used. The new method is compared with incremental and offset estimation methods.

摘要:
The paper shows how the frequency response of a linear system can be measured when the input signal is applied for only a short time interval, which may be less than the time required to establish steady-state conditions in the system. Two examples are included.
