摘要:
The rest of the world has calendar years and fiscal years, but we have school years. Summer has done. Happy New Year! New years call for resolutions. Each of us must draw up our own resolutions, but here are some items from my list.

摘要:
This article examines long-term historical trends in physics B.S. production, and possible factors responsible for those trends. The factors considered include: a changing profile of college entrants, the increasing lure of engineering, differential grade inflation, old-fashioned pedagogy, and poor teaching. Finally, the article considers whether it matters to society whether physics major enrollments continue to decline.

摘要:
The note discusses electrical power and energy and includes possible labs to be used in a physics classroom. It is based on our experimentation with a new device called the Watt-Watt/Hour Meter, which displays instantaneous power and cumulative energy readings of household electrical devices. Our experiments utilized this meter in conjunction with various appliances and focused primarily on its use with a refrigerator.

摘要:
TI-TIMER is a menu-driven timing program designed to run on a TI-85 calculator. It can be calibrated, records multiple time trials, and displays both a list of these trials and an average time value. The note includes information on obtaining this program.

摘要:
In this note, we describe a simple modification of the smoke cell experiment, which enables us to project the Brownian motion of smoke soot on a screen for demonstration. The key changes include the use of a laser pointer for illumination and a microvideo outfit for projection.
