摘要:
Performance data has been obtained on five solar domestic hot water heating (DHW) systems for a period of approximately three years In Rhode Island. Actual physical performance has been analysed using computer techniques and compared to F-CHART predictions [1] using actual loads and state-wide insolation rates for the period under study. Brief descriptions of the systems, a sample data set, the results of the analyses, and a comparison of actual performance with calculated predictions for each system are presented While F-CHART predictions are generally higher than actual performance estimates for four of the five systems under study, the results are consistent with experimental and computational uncertainties and known systematic effects in the theoretical analysis.

The majority of those countries which receive the highest of solar radiation are also amongst the lowest income countries of the world. For solar water heating to be used on any reasonable scale in these countries the selling prices of the units must be compatable with the local salaries but at the same time give good water heating performance.

摘要:
A consistent methodology for the economic and financial analysis of non-conventional energy projects is presented in this paper. General energy-economic issues and the principles of integrated national energy planning are outlined first, followed by a review of the main stages in processing an energy project. The investment decision from the national viewpoint should be made using economic shadow prices by verifying that the decentralized technology is least-cost, and that the benefits derived from its use exceed the costs. If these requirements are satisfied, similar but separate calculations are performed using market prices to ascertain whether private individuals will find the new technology both financially least-cost and profitable. When one or both of these financial conditions are not met, the government should adjust the relevant market prices and make other policy changes to satisfy the financial criteria. Successful project implementation may begin only after the decentralized energy technology is acceptable on the basis of both the shadow and market priced calculations. A case study involving solar photovoltaic pumping systems, illustrates the inter-actions between the economic and financial criteria, and government energy policies.

摘要:
Using a monitored test rig of a domestics solar water heating system, the thermal performances firstly of the different components of the system (solar collectors, heat exchanger, flow pipe insulation, storage tank insulation), and secondly of the overall system, were measured. Two modifications to the system design were then made. Firstly theindirectcollection of solar heat was changed todirectcollection by removing the heat exchanger in the storage tank. Secondly,combined storageof solar and auxiliary heat in the same tank was used as opposed toseparate storage.
