摘要:
In this paper the authors present an analysis of the technico-economical performances of a paddy (husked rice) drying system consisting of a metallic shed converted into a warm air generator and a silo type dryer. Thanks to several simulations, they determine the optimum operating conditions and the economic performances of the system.

The Gas engine driven Heat Pump (GHP) represents a logical alternative to conventional electric space-conditioning machines, even for residential and light commercial applications. Engine waste heat recovery and ability to closely follow the load requirements by continuously modulating engine speed are just some of the advantages offered by GHPs with respect to traditional Electric Heat Pumps (EHPs).

摘要:
A somewhat generalised framework for estimating the energy savings potential of energy efficient motors in the rice milling industry in India has been proposed. Relationship between the paddy processing capacity of the rice mill and its power rating has been developed from the available data. For realistic estimation of power rating, new factors have been proposed. Regression curves of motor efficiency on its power rating have also been developed for both standard and energy efficient motors. Based on these relationships, the energy savings potential for various cases has been estimated. Finally, the financial feasibility of using energy efficient motors in place of standard motors in rice milling industries has been evaluated.

摘要:
With the help of a combined cycle model, the effect of the irreversibility of finite-rate heat transfer on the performance of a two-stage combined heat pump system in steady-state operation is investigated. The optimal coefficient of performance of the combined heat pump system is derived for a given specific heating load. The optimal relations between the temperatures of the working fluid in heat exchangers and the coefficient of performance or specific heating load are found. The optimal distribution of heat exchanger areas is determined. Finally, a simple equivalent system is given.

摘要:
Based on measured weather data from 1960 to 1992, four climatic parameters affecting energy consumption in buildings have been selected and analysed. These are cooling degree-days (CDD's), heating degree-days (HDD's), latent enthalpy-days (LED's) and cooling radiation-days (CRD's). CDD's give an indication of cooling requirement in general, LED's indicate the effect of latent cooling and CRD's correlate with cooling load penalties due to unwanted solar heat gain. In sub-tropical Hong Kong, heating degree-days are small compared with those for a temperate climate.
