摘要:
A design environment specially tailored to problems in control engineering is presented. It contains, apart from plant models and operating environments, the formulation of the experimental environment. Linear controllers of any desired structure are designed with the aid of the characteristic variables of the experiments, using a vector optimization procedure in an interactive design process. The hierarchical description of the model, based on an interpreter solution, was realized in the ADA programming language. A complex problem in controller design, taken from the field of vehicle suspension, proves the efficiency and performance of the design tool.

摘要:
The use of dynamic programming to solve non-linear optimal control problems resistant to other methods is investigated. The proposed method utilizing a relatively coarse grid followed by systematic reduction in the grid size is shown to converge to the optimal solution in a reasonable number of iterations. The method is easy to program and the likelihood of obtaining the global optimum is very high if the initial grid is chosen to be sufficiently large. Computational results are presented for three systems to show that dynamic programming provides an attractive procedure when fast computers are available.

摘要:
H2- and H∞- weighting sequence approximations to rational and irrational functions (Trefethen 1981, Heltonet al. 1989) are pertinent to characteristic locus design. The most effective technique combines inverse discrete Fourier transforms with what amount to H2approximations. In this paper we discuss the theoretical background and develop some new H2and H∞ techniques. The resulting algorithms can be applied to general (rational/irrational) function and vector function approximation problems. They are shown to be particularly effective in the approximation of eigenvalue/vector functions of transfer function matrices. The derived techniques provide some very useful tools for the characteristic locus design method.

摘要:
A simulation-based test for the stability along the pass of a differential unit memory linear multipass process is developed which is suitable for software implementation. Further, it is shown that this test produces, at no extra cost, information concerning the rate of approach of the output sequence to the limit profile in one special case of practical interest. Finally, the use of this unique feature in controller design is briefly discussed.

摘要:
In the design of multi-input multi-output (MIMO) adaptive control systems an interactor plays an important role. The derivation of the interactor requires system parameter values unless the interactor is in diagonal form. This is a considerable restriction when the interactor is applied to the adaptive control system design. In MIMO adaptive control many parameters must be estimated to achieve good tracking. Over-parametrization causes many problems, e.g. bad tracking performance and long calculation time of control input. A design of interactor, called a G-interactor, for unknown MIMO plants is given. It is applied to MIMO adaptive control systems. The G-interactor requires minimum information on the plant, such as the relative degree of each element of the plant transfer matrix. For this design a canonical form, called the G-canonical form, of a matrixAis investigated. The canonical form is also used to eliminate redundant parameters of MIMO adaptive control systems. Numerical examples show the effectiveness of the proposed adaptive control design.

摘要:
Discrete-event processes are modelled by state-machines in the Ramadge-Wonham framework with control by a feedback event disablement mechanism. In this paper concepts of stabilization of discrete-event processes are defined and investigated. We examine the possibility of driving a process (under control) from arbitrary initial states to a prescribed subset of the state set and then keeping it there indefinitely. This stabilization property is studied also with respect to ‘open-loop’ processes (i.e. uncontrolled processes) and their asymptotic behaviour is characterized. To this end, such well known classical concepts of dynamics as invariant sets and attractors are redefined and characterized in the discrete-event control framework. We provide polynomial time algorithms for verifying various types of attraction and for the. synthesis of attractors.

摘要:
The inner functions and pseudo-singular-value decomposition (PSVD) which arise in super optimal H∞control are studied. New properties of non-square inner matrices are derived and astructuralinner matrix is defined as an inner matrix with no transmission zeros. The uniqueness properties of the PSVD are derived and structural inner functions are used to characterize particular PSVDs

摘要:
Moonenet al.(1989 a), presented an SVD-based identification scheme for computing state-space models for multivariable linear time-invariant systems. In the present paper, this identification procedure is reformulated making use of the quotient singular value decomposition (QSVD). Here the input-output error co-variance matrix can be taken into account explicitly, thus extending the applicability of the identification scheme to the case were the input and output data are corrupted by coloured noise. It turns out that in practice, due to the use of various pre-filtering techniques (anti-aliasing, etc.), this latter case is most often encountered. The extended identification scheme explicitly compensates for the filter characteristics and the consistency of the identification results follows from the consistency results for the QSVD. The usefulness of this generalization is demonstrated. The development is largely inspired by recent progress in total least-squares solution techniques (Van Huffel 1989) for the identification of static linear relations. The present identification scheme can therefore be viewed as the analogous counterpart for identifying dynamic linear relations.

摘要:
Aperiodicity is normally defined as a property such that all the roots are simple and negative real, while interval polynomials are referred to as polynomials with coefficients lying within specified closed intervals on the real axis. Several conditions for aperiodicity, including an exact one, are derived. Comments on these conditions are given in contrast to the work of Soh and Berger, who also considered the problem with a modified definition of aperiodicity.
