摘要:
The purpose is the discrete-time stochastic modelling of a linear plant in single-loop direct digital feedback control, particularly with a constant reference input. The system receives dynamic inputs by the intrinsic noise of the digital quantizers, and from environmental disturbances, which are assumed to have rational spectral densities. An equation is derived in the deviation from its mean of the random feedback variable, y(k), consisting in a linear difference expression in y(k), a so-called autoregrcssion, equated to a sum of linear difference expressions in white noise sequences, so-called moving averages. 摘要:
This paper presents two viewpoints of optimal systems that are alternatives to the familiar Eulor-Lngrange method. In the first the use of mode theory aids the conceptual understanding of an optimal system by expressing the conditions of optimality in terms of controllability and observability. In the second the conditions and associated numerical techniques are derived from a viewpoint of mathematical physics by the use of adjoint operators ; the results are approached directly rather than indirectly through multiplier functions. The results are well known, but these two different approaches contribute to a better understanding of the subject.

The optimal, in the mean-square sense, estimate of state vector of a linear discrete system that is excited by white zero mean gaussian noise and that has non-gaussian initial state vector is presented. Both the optimal estimate and the corresponding error covariance matrix are given. It is shown that the optimal estimator consists of two parts : a linear estimator which is a Kalman filter and a non-linear part which is a parameter estimator. In addition, the a posteriori probability density function, p(x(k)λk), is also given. Finally, a suboptimal procedure that reduces the computational requirements is presented.

This paper presents a numerical computational method for the solution of the optimal regulator problem for a class of linear constant discrete-time systems whose impulse responses are known but whose state variables are inaccessible. The method consists substantially in evaluating the inverse of positive-definite symmetric matrices with variable dimensions. A property concerning the convergence of the inverse matrix when its dimension tends to infinity is established under some appropriate assumptions.

A suitable I.P. is developed for use in a discrete implicit model-following problem. An appropriate iterative algorithm For computing the control law is developed using an augmented state vector which includes the plant, model and command signal. The algorithm was tested on an aeroplane lateral axis stability augmentation system problem, and the results of a digital simulation are presented.

摘要:
In this paper the hydro-thermal scheduling problem is discussed. An interconnected hydro-thermal electric power system is scheduled such that maximum economy is achieved. The schedules obtained are designed to meet a specified active power demand and simultaneously to satisfy energy constraints imposed on the hydro-plants generations. The scheduling problem is solved by the use of functional analysis and, in this case, the minimum norm problem formulation is employed. It is emphasized that the optimal solution found here is guaranteed to be the unique optimal solution. The practical implementation of finding the generation schedule is illustrated by way of two examples.

Necessary and sufficient conditions of pointwise completeness at time t1(i.e. no component of the n-dimensional state vector should be equal to zero at time i, for all possible choices of the initial functions) of any system of the form x(t)= Ax(t) + Bx(t-h) are given. It has been shown that if the linear time-invariant delay-differential system is not pointwise complete at time t1, then it is also not pointwise complete at time t>t1and if the linear time-invariant delay-differential system is not pointwise complete at time t=t1>(n-1)hthen it is also not pointwise complete at time t= >(n-1)h.

It is found that, under certain conditions, the estimation errors produced by the Standard Kalman-filter algorithm increase rapidly, and become unbounded, even though the predicted error covariance continues to decrease in accordance with the stability properties of the Kalman filter. A very simple modification, which freezes the filter gain when divergence is suspected, is suggested. The modified algorithm would keep these errors within bound without causing an appreciable increase in the computation burden.
