摘要:
An examination of the structure of the optimal control problem with hard state restraints indicates that problem sensitivity presents the principal difficulty to solution convergence in algorithm design. A design philosophy based on problem sensitivity and comprising a set. of arbitrarily chosen desensitizing algorithms is successfully applied to an illustrative example of state restrained optimal control.

摘要:
A method is presented for the determination of limit cycles in feedback systems having one or more non-linear elements. The non-linearities are approximated using a quantized characteristic, that is, a parallel combination of relays, and a previously known result for the exact computation of limit cycles in relay systems, is used. Examples are given where it is seen that very accurate results can be obtained with relatively few quantization steps.

摘要:
Theoretical results are derived showing how a multivariable non-linearity with given multiple input describing functions may be synthesized. Examples are given to illustrate the procedure and to show how it may be used in the design of feedback systems.

摘要:
The main purpose of this paper is the error analysis of the fixed-point prediction for the linear continuous-time system with the coloured measurement noise. In the first part of this paper we derive an algorithm for the fixed-point prediction with the coloured measurement, noise from the given system. The remaining part presents the error analysis of the fixed-point prediction due to two causes, one of which is misidentifying the coefficients of the system and the covariances of the noises and the other of simplifying the coloured measurement noise by a white measurement noise. For the above cases two differential equations are obtained which govern the actual covariances regarded as the error quantities.

摘要:
Non-Lyapunov stability analysis of time-dependent non-linear large-scale systems of arbitrary order and structure presented in the paper develops algebraic conditions for various types of practical and finite-time stability of the systems and provides information about trajectory bounds. The stability properties are studied on products of time-varying sets. The conditions guarantee the corresponding stability property of the overall system to be implied by practical stability or finite-time stability of all subsystems. Moreover, under the conditions the overall system possesses the smiw settling time as its subsystems.

摘要:
Sew algorithms for sensitivity and error analysis of combined estimation and control systems are presented. The control structure is constrained apriorito be a fixed configuration type in which the closed-loop control is generated by the summation of a gain matrix multiplying the measured states and another gain matrix multiplying an estimate of the unmeasured states. The estimator is constraineda priorito be a reduced-order Luenberger observer. An augmented state vector is formed consisting of the original system states plus the estimation errors for each of the states not measured. This vector is used in deriving a mean square closed-loop system propagation matrix equation which is a function of the feedback gains, observer dynamics, system modelling errors, anda prioristate statistics. The standard quadratic form performance index is reformulated using trace notation in terms of the closed-loop mean square matrix. The performance index is then reduced to a simple expression by forcing a matrix Riccati-type equation to be satisfied. Use of the algorithms is demonstrated by the presentation of a simple second-order system example.

摘要:
For non-linear time-variable systems a synthesis procedure for decoupling via state feedback is given. A sufficient condition for observability of non-linear time-variable systems is introduced which serves as a basis for the analysis of the structure of the decoupled closed-loop system. In this context a sufficient condition for the observability of a decoupled non-linear time-variable system is derived.

摘要:
Attention is given to a class of time-varying multivariable systems which can be decoupled uniformly by state variable feedback. A procedure is developed that leads to a dynamic output feedback control law which simultaneously achieves uniform decoupling and stabilization in the augmented system.

摘要:
A certain class of aggregated systems is exhibited whose degree and associated McMillan degree are the respective sums of the degrees and McMillan degrees of their subsystems. Some specializations of the main theorem are then made which subsequently yield some new results in the theory of invariants of linear dynamical systems.

摘要:
A new method of reduction is introduced, based on the Routh stability criterion and the Padé approximation technique. The method may be applied to the reduction of single-input/single-output and multivariable systems. The reduced-order models will always be stable if the high-order system is stable.
