摘要:
It is well known that certain impedance matrices, which can be realized by multi-ports containing only inductors, capacitors and resistors, can only be realized in this way when more reactive elements are used than the McMillan degree would suggest. The redundancy which this implies is investigated and it is shown to be of three types, which can exist alone or in combination. In particular, the multiport may have least order in spite of the redundancy.

摘要:
An algorithm to choose the initial multipliers optimally for quasilinearization solution of optimal control problems with bounded controls and constant multipliers is proposed. It uses diagonal matrices of weighting coefficients in the performance index of an auxiliary minimization problem. This auxiliary performance index comprises the cumulative error in the system constraints and the optimum conditions in the original extremization problem. The auxiliary performance index is quadratically dependent on the multipliers for given state and control functions. The resulting variational problem leads to linear Euler equations. The computational characteristics of the proposed method are demonstrated with two numerical examples.

The theorem derived in this paper provides sufficient conditions regarding the frequency content of the inputs to a Liapunov-adaptive identification process, so as to guarantee nullification of the parameter error vector. As such it complements the several other similar theorems which have appeared in the literature. In contrast to previous work, however, this theorem utilizes knowledge of specific locations of unknown parameters in theA, Bmatrices, thereby in some instances significantly reducing the frequency requirements.

摘要:
In this paper a relay-controlled second-order unstable system, composed of one pole at the origin and one pole in the right-half of the s-plane, will be thoroughly studied. First the regulating case will be attacked and then we shall study the type of admissible input for the tracking problem, so that after a minimum transient time the output of the plant would follow this input without any error. In both regulating and tracking problems, it will be established that provided the initial values of error and error derivative fall in a ‘ controllable region ’, then it is possible to reduce error and error derivative to zero, simultaneously and in the shortest possible time with at most ‘ one ’ switching reversal of the relay. It will also be shown that through simple linear transformation of error and error derivative, the equation of the switching curve can be made independent of any constant gain of the system, as well as the value of the pole in the right-half of the s-plane.

Example is given to reveal that the conventional formula for multigrade z-transform yields erroneous results if the transfer function of the system contains time delays equal or greater than the sampling intervalT/N. A general expression for correct answers is developed. This expression is also applicable to linear sample-data system containing time delays that are integer multiples of the basic sampling intervalT.

摘要:
This paper presents ft method for approximating a higher-order linear system transfer function by a lower-order model. The method is based on the requirement that the frequency response of the simplified model is to be matched with the frequency response of the original system. The frequency response matching is required in using simplified models for the analysis of nonlinear control systems. The reported new method is illustrated by means of a numerical example. A critical comparison of this method with other existing methods of model simplification is also presented.

摘要:
This paper considers the problem of approximating a continuous-data system by a sampled-data model. The approximation is achieved by comparison of the states of the systems at each sampling period, It is shown that it is possible to match all the states if a hold device of sufficiently high order is utilized after the sampler. The order of the hold device necessary depends on the ratio of the number of states and the number of controls of the system. An example is presented to illustrate the procedure. The method is useful when an existing analogue system is to be converted into a digital system with minimal changes in performance.

摘要:
This paper presents a generalization of a technique developed previously for optimization of stochastic saturating systems. The generalization includes: (1) extension of the technique to systems with multiple control functions, (2) transformation of the optimization problem with constraints to the solution of a set of non-linear algebraic equations, and (3) a unified approach for different types of non-linear control functions. Also, a computation algorithm for solving the set of non-linear equations is proposed in this paper. Numerical examples are given for discussion on the questions of convergence and existence of a solution.
