摘要:
The discrete form of the Volterra series is used to evaluate the response of non-linear discrete-time systems. The Volterra kernels that characterize the various terms representing the free and forced response components are defined, and a convolution-type relationship between these kernels is developed.

摘要:
Population dynamics, an important problem in ecology and demography, is nothing but a positive feedback, so it is natural to study it by feedback control technique. In this paper the fundamental relation and characteristic equation for population systems are derived with reference to an improved Lexis diagram based on the concept of feedback. These results are then confirmed by differential equations on the analogy of a belt conveyor process. It is concluded that the population system is a dynamic system with input, output and positive feedback, and can be treated in the same way as an engineering system with distributed parameters by the technique developed in feedback control engineering.

摘要:
This paper presents n general procedure to determine the root loci and the corresponding gain curves of the control systems with distributed lags. Two examples related to population dynamics are given to show the practical procedure and the effect due to distributed lags.

摘要:
Kronecker's theory of singular pencils ia applied to multivariable systems in state-space form. The minimal indices and divisors that characterize the theory are related to the system transfer-function matrix through a new canonical form. A new minimal realization procedure based on the infinite divisors of the pencil is given. The concept- of strictly equivalent pencils is used to provide an alternative solution to a model matching problem.

摘要:
A completely algebraic formulation of the design of dynamical observers of the Luenberger type is available in the literature. This formulation places in evidence all the available degrees of freedom in the design of the observer. A natural question which arises is whether the design freedom can be utilized to achieve certain desirable overall system properties. Attention is turned in this paper to the possibility of realizing zero sensitivity to plant parameter variations of a quadratic performance index. It is established that the desired insensitivity is impossible to achieve for all initial states with the available design freedom.

摘要:
The optimal asymptotically stabilizing control problem is formulated, and the theorem for the sufficient condition that guarantees its existence and uniqueness is stated and proved. The close relationship with Pontryagin's equations is discussed. It is shown that the control problem falls into the framework of optimal linear regulators with quadratic cost functionals. Furthermore, an alternate approach is presented that, for the problem solved, leads to the same optimal control.

摘要:
It is shown by examples that approximate solutions to a Duffing type equation as obtained by the Kryloff-Bogoliuboff method are superior to those obtained by the refined elliptic function method (Soudack and Barkham 1971). Both methods fail if the damping and/or the non-linearity are large.

摘要:
A technique has been developed in this article for obtaining the ‘ product of sum ’ expression from the ‘ sum of product ’ expression of a Boolean function. In this technique, first a tabular representation is made with the product terms and the variables present in the function specified in the ‘ sum of product ’ form and then appropriate rows of the table are combined to give different sum terms. The idea of the technique has also been extended for obtaining the third-order minimal expression of a Boolean function.

摘要:
The problem of designing an optimal discrete-time feedback controller is discussed for a linear system governed by coupled partial and ordinary differential equations. For the case of spatially concentrated controls and a quadratic performance index, the minimum cost and the optimal discrete-time controls are determined. Evaluation of computational requirements demonstrate the applicability to on-line computer control.
