摘要:
This paper presents the solution of the linear discrete optimal control problem to achieve poles assigned in a circular region and meanwhile accommodate constant but unknown disturbances. It is shown that, by suitable manipulations, the problem can be reduced to a standard discrete quadratic regulator problem, and therefore the solution can easily be obtained.

摘要:
General orthogonal polynomials are introduced in order to analyse and approximate the solution of a class of delay systems. Using the operational matrix of integration, together with the operational matrix of linear transformation, the dynamical equation of a delay system is reduced to a set of simultaneous linear algebraic equations. The coefficient vectors of the general orthogonal polynomials can be determined recursively by use of the derived algorithm. Examples are given to demonstrate the validity and applicability of the orthogonal-polynomial approximations.

An alternative approach to the design of a servomechanism for a continuous system is presented and its digital control is considered. The proposed design of the digital control system is based on the quadratic criterion function for a continuous system, and a smooth control input is given as the output of a high-order sample-hold circuit, which is derived from the characteristics of the reference signal and disturbances.

摘要:
A new recursive computational algorithm for evaluating the entries in the generalized block-pulse matrix is derived in this paper. The Stirling number and a new extended theorem are used to prove the constant difference property of the entries of the generalized block-pulse operational matrix. A recursive algorithm can then be obtained. The reduction of computing effort and associated errors is very significant when the number of computing intervals is realistically large. In comparison with the previous recursive algorithm for repeated integral operations, this new algorithm specifically addresses evaluation of the matrix entries, which, as is well known, can then be applied to evaluate the effect of multiple integrations without the need for repeated applications of the conventional block-pulse function,

We consider the factorization of an all-pass matrix function E(s) into proper, stable, minimum-phase factors. This is achieved by applying the state-space Wiener-Hopf factorization theory of Bartet al. (1983) to the state-space characterization of all-pass matrix functions given by Glover (1984). Important connections are made between the properties of E( s) as a Nehari extension, its partial Wiener-Hopf factorization indices, and its Hankel singular values.

A basic result concerning the validity of Padé approximation used in time delay systems is presented. The local distribution of poles of a system containing a Padé approximant as a substitute for exp(—s) is shown to be asymptotically consistent with that of the original system as the order of approximation is increased.
