摘要:
The purpose of this paper is to show a new criterion on the stability of the limit cycle for a general third-order non-linear system : that the linear-part transfer function can be either stable or unstable and the non-linear element has a real describing function. The presented method is purely analytic. Combining with an analytic method for predicting the amplitudes and frequencies of limit cycles, an analytic process for determining the stable limit cycles of a general third-order non-linear system is completed. Many examples are given.

摘要:
A simple adaptation scheme has been suggested to improve system performance on line more and more towards the desired optimal performance when the parameters of the plant are either not correctly known or varying during the process. Ana priorimodel for simulation studies on a computer is based on all the available information about the actual plant, and further improvement of the model is effected successively at discrete intervals of time by appropriate corrections computed from the difference between the measured response of the plant and the simulated response; of the model for a common input. Deterministic system with noise-free measurement is assumed. Linear examples are given to illustrate the procedure.

摘要:
The application of state feedback decoupling is proposed for the minimization of transients following small changes in real and reactive power levels in a turbo-alternator connected to an infinite bus through u transmission line. For an example. a ninth-order linearized system model is decoupled into two third-order single-input-single-output systems. The poles of these systems are optimally placed to satisfy n variety of design specifications. From the computational point of view, t his approach is far more attractive than that using state-variable or output feedback without decoupling. It also provides better insight into the problem.

摘要:
The principle of dead-beat control gives a method of optimum control. It is shown that two other optimum control settings, viz,. that, of the minimum sum criterion and that of the minimum integral criterion, are closely related to dead-beat control, The latter has the additional advantage of being optimal regardless of the moment of appearance of the step disturbance.
