摘要:
This paper discusses team-optimal closed-loop Stackelberg strategies for systems with slow and fast modes. It is established that the cost functions of the players in the pure slow and the full-order games have the same value in the limit as the small singular perturbation parameters tends to zero. It is shown that if the leader bases the design of his approximate strategy on the slow subsystem, while the follower bases his design on the full-order system, then the resulting solution is ill-posed. Moreover, if the fast information is incorporated in the approximate strategy of the leader, then it is shown that the singular perturbation technique of constructing approximate strategies by composing the slow and fast strategies is ill-posed and cannot be used in this problem. A new design methodology to construct approximate Stackelberg strategies by solving reduced-order problems, which have the same information structure as the full-order one, is presented. It is shown that the conditions for existenco and uniqueness of the solution of the full-order problem can be established through those conditions of the reduced-order problems. Finally, it is proved that the approximate strategies, besides being team near-optimal, possess the asymptotic Stackelberg property.

摘要:
The authors' algorithm for determining tho structural controllability of multi-input time invariant processes with ill-defined parameter values, presented in an earlier paper, is modified to take account of insights arising from an examination of three counter-examples. The modified algorithm has the same underlying philosophy as the original method. It can be applied without computational aids to determine the controllability of many practical problems and this is demonstrated by examining a twelth order model of a rotor-bearing system. The method also provides an aid to system design. A graphical procedure is presented for determining the rank of the pair (A, b). The extension to multiple inputs is discussed.

摘要:
Non-linear state differential equationsx = f(x, u)with algebraic constraintsg(x, u, e) = 0, e = e(t), which describe possibly singular systems, are considered. The derivation of equivalent unconstrained state differential equations x* = f* (x*, e, ė,...), {x*}c:{x}≥{x}with the ‘ output’ equationsu = h*(x*, u*, e, ė,…)andx equals; h* * (x*, e, ė…)is studied. Instead of an extension of the linear matrix-oriented singular system theory, the non-linear system inversion ideas are found to be easily applicable, to preserve much of the original system structure, and to give insight into the possibly distributional behaviour of and the possible incompatibilities in the system.

摘要:
A controllability canonical form for non-linear time-variable systems with a control variable appearing linearly is introduced. The global controllability of this nonlinear phase-variable form is given independently of the non-linearities. A transformation to the controllability canonical form requires the regularity of a matrix which can be considered the controllability matrix of a non-linear time-variable system. A problem which still remains unsolved is the actual computation of the non-linear controllability canonical form for a given system.

摘要:
Using the theorem presented in this paper, one can define reconstructable states of linear system with unknown inputs using well known algorithms applied to continuous- and discrete-time systems without disturbances. An algorithm of the observer construction is also presented in the paper.
