摘要:

Estimation of parameters in systems described by ordinary differential equations is considered. The use of shorter data-length enables the region of convergence for parameter estimation to be substantially increased. This is especially important during the first few iterations when accurate estimates of parameters may not be available.

The self-tuning regulator of Åström and Wittenmark and its derivatives are discussed. The stability properties are analysed using standard input-output concepts. Convergence with probability one of certain mean-square errors of interest is shown to be a consequence of input-output stability of a related system and the martingale convergence theorem.

The connection between optimally derived self-tuners and those baaed upon pole-zero assignment is noted. The choice between alternative self-tuning algorithms is then related to the more generally appreciated conflict of classical versus optimal control.
