摘要:
This paper presents an algorithm for the computation of totally singular optimal control problems. The algorithm is an extension of a modified quasilinearization technique which was originally developed for the solution of non-linear two-point boundary-value problems. A numerical example is included for illustration.

By using Parseval's theorm for almost periodic functions an expression for the energy distribution in a sampled and reconstructed sinusoidal waveform is derived. The expression is then evaluated for zero- and first-order hold systems through use of the psi function and its derivatives.

In previous papers classical theorems on location of zeros of a polynomial with respect to the left half plane Γ1or the unit circle Γ2have been reformulated more simply in terms of appropriate companion matrices. It is shown how this work can be extended to the problem of zero location with respect to more general regions Γ of the complex plane. The first approach is to apply the bilinear transformation to the given polynomial, so that for example Γ1can be mapped into Γ2and a matrix representation of this is derived. An alternative method is discussed which relies on transformation of Γ into Γ2. Some examples illustrate how any theorem involving Hurwitz-typc minors can be expressed in companion matrix terms, with a consequent halving of the orders of the determinants involved.

摘要:
For a multi-extrema search method to be systematic, there are three main difficulties : (a) attraction of the previously found point; Lpar;b) definiteness of the search trajectory between two points ; (c) exhaustiveness of the overall search. In this paper it is shown that these difficulties can be overcome in the following ways : (a) destabilization of the previously found point by transforming it into a saddle point ; (b) force the search trejectory to remain on the invariant analytical line between two points, and (c) stabilization-destabilization alternation of all points found.

A new limit cycle stability criterion for non-linear Lur'e-type systems is derived in this paper. The result is achieved via the approach of transient oscillations analysis and the main approximation of the method consists in the use of the describing function relative to the non-linear part of the system.

摘要:
A state space procedure for the formulation and solution of the mixed boundary value problems is established. It is a natural extension of the method used in the initial value problems : however, certain special theorems and rules should be developed. The scope of the applications of the approach includes the beam,arch, axisymmetrical shell problems in structural analysis, boundary layer problems in fluid mechanics and eigenvalue problems for deformable bodies, etc. Many classical methods in these fields developed by, for example, Holzer, Prohl, Myklestad, Thomson, Love-Meissner, etc. can be either simplied or unified under new light shed by the state variable approach. A beam problem is included as an illustration.

This paper deals with the problem of decoupling a class of linear time-varying multi-variable systems, based on the defining property that the impulse response matrix of a decoupled system is diagonal. Depending on the properties of the coefficient matrices of the vector differential equation of the open-loop system, the system may be uniformly or totally decoupled. The necessary and sufficient conditions that permit a system to be uniformly or totally decoupled by state variable feedback are given. The main contribution of this paper is the precise definition of these two classes of decoupling and a rigorous derivation of the necessary and sufficient conditions which show the necessity of requiring that the system be of constant ordered rank with respect to observability. A simple example illustrates the importance of having several definitions of decoupling. Finally, the results are specialized to the case of time invariant systems.

In this paper, a class of non-linear non-autonomous systems with multiple non-linearities is considered. Sufficient conditions are developed for a type of practical stability with specified settling time. The conditions are independent of the actual Form of the non-linear characteristics so that they can be interpreted as conditions for ‘absolute’ practical stability. The stability test is reduced to verification of the Hurwitz property of a constant matrix. This makes the stability analysis of the considered class of non-linear systems convenient for machine computations
