摘要:
This paper introduces the notion of input- (output-) decoupling structural zeros for linear time-invariant systems, described by Rosenbrock's system polynomial matrices. This notion is based on the definition of polynomial system matrices having the same structure that is given in this paper. Namely the input- (output-) decoupling structural zeros are decoupling zeros that are present for every choice of the system parameters. The main results are derived using digraph theory. An example illustrates the procedure for detecting structural zeros.

摘要:
Multirate sampled-data control of a linear time-invariant continuous-time plant is considered, It is shown that, if the plant is controllable and observable, a multirate sampled-data ‘gain‘ controller can always be constructed so that the poles of the closed-loop system become an arbitrarily-given symmetric set of complex numbers. It is also shown that the input sampling rate (JV,, ⃛,NJ can be chosen equal to the Kronecker invariants, or other locally minimum controllability indices. Here, ‘locally minimum controllability indices’ are defined as a set of integers (nlt⃛, nm) such that ≪(+n2+ ⃛+m, equals the dimension of the state vector and the matrix [b, ⃛ A‴∼1b1⃛ bm⃛ A″m∼ 'b] is non-singular. This capability gives a new perspective to the application of multirate sampled-data controllers.

摘要:
A complete SISO controller design technique is presented that allows robust controller design in the face of process uncertainty. Process-uncertainty descriptions with meaningful physical interpretations are compatible with the technique. A test for robust performance can be applied when the process is described by a transfer function with real parameter variations. First a method is presented for locating all possible complex variations of a transfer function resulting from real parameter uncertainties. The possible variations are pictured as model uncertainty regions on the complex plane. Next a controller design technique based on the internal model control structure is outlined. The controller is used to map the process uncertainty regions to the Nyquist plane for stability and performance analysis. The region-mapping technique offers a unique opportunity to compare robust performance of PID and Smith Predictor controllers. Finally, applications of the proposed technique to structured singular-value analysis are discussed.

摘要:
Adopting special time-varying Lyapunov-function candidates, it is shown that the Popov criterion ensures large-scale asymptotic stability for linear time-varying feedback systems with relaxed conditions on the time-varying gain fc(t). The main result is that li(t)/k(t) need not be bounded for all finite t and need be bounded only whenibecomes arbitrarily large. Again, in the derivations we make use of the Lefschetz version of the Kalman-Yakubovich lemma.

摘要:
Bestle and Zeitz have introduced a non-linear time-variable observer canonical form which permits, through a non-linear state transformation, the use of the eigenvalue assignment method to design observers for non-linear time-variable dynamic systems. In this paper, a necessary and sufficient condition under which the transformation exists is given. It is also proved that the transformation could be determined by integrating single variable functions instead of solving a set of partial differential equations as shown by Bestle and Zeitz. Examples are included to show how to do the transformation.

摘要:
General discrete orthogonal polynomials are introduced to analyse and approximate the solution of a class of discrete scaled systems. Using the general discrete shift transformation matrix, together with the general discrete scale matrix, the discrete scaled system can be reduced to a set of simultaneous linear algebraic equations. The coefficient vectors of general discrete orthogonal polynomials can be determined simply by the derived algorithm. Examples are included to show the applicability of the general discrete orthogonal polynomial approximations.

摘要:
The synthesis of an optimal control function for deterministic systems described by integrodifferential equations is investigated. By using the elegant operational properties of shifted Chebyshev polynomials, a direct computational algorithm for evaluating the optimal control and trajectory of deterministic systems is developed. An example is given to illustrate the utility of this method, and other orthogonal functions are also shown for comparison.

摘要:
A very effective method of using the generalized orthogonal polynomials (GOP) for identifying the parameters of a process whose behaviour can be modelled by a linear differential equation with time-varying coefficients in the form of finite-order polynomials is presented. It is based on the differentiation operational matrix of the GOP, which can represent all kinds of individual orthogonal polynomials. The main advantage of using the differentiation operational matrix is that parameter estimation can be made starting at any time of interest, i.e. without the restriction of starting at zero time. In addition, the present computation algorithm is simpler than that of the integration operational matrix. Using the concept of GOP expansion for state and control functions, the differential input-output equation is converted into a set of linear algebraic equations. The unknown parameters are evaluated by a weighted least-squares estimation method. Very satisfactory results for illustrative example are obtained.

摘要:
Two-input one-output compensators can be used for decoupling and exact model-matching design. They are more general than the well-known output feedback and observer-controller-type feedback. However, the design of two-input one-output compensators is also difficult. In this paper we present a design procedure for a two-input one-output compensator for multivariable systems. In the design, we only require an added dynamic to ensure the solution-existence condition. Thus the design of two-input one-output compensators is put on the same level as the familiar output feedback and observer-controller-type feedback designs.
