摘要:
A continuous-time relay self-tuning controller is examined. It is found that if the relay operates in the sliding mode, continuous-time self-tuning and its relay version are equivalent. Thus control approaches, such as model-reference, pole-placement and their detuned versions, obtained in the former case, can also be obtained in the latter case. Results are also illustrated by simulation.

摘要:
This paper studies the non-linear observer design problem by observer canonical forms. We present necessary and sufficient conditions in terms of the ranks of matrices for the existence of a non-linear state coordinate change under which a time-variable system is transformed into an observer canonical form. These conditions give the multiple versions of Li and Tao (1986) for the single-output case. Then a comparison is made with the Lie algebraic conditions obtained by Krener and Respondek (1985), and modified by the authors in a recent paper (Xia and Gao 1987).

摘要:
In this paper automatic error elimination between outputs ofnidentical simple-integral plants with different initial conditions is studied, with two distinct objectives:(a)to make all identical steady-state outputs time integral of any common inputx(t);(b)to make all identical steady-state outputs track perfectly a reference, or command, inputr(t)with the use of only ONE controllerH(S)for all the n plants. In both cases the problem can be viewed as one of synchronization. Sections 3–6 of the paper are devoted to part(a)and § 7 to part(b). Achievement of objective(b)relies heavily on the results obtained for fulfilment of objective(a). Various points discussed in the text are demonstrated by means of three examples.

摘要:
An optimal design problem which unifies reduced-order modelling, estimation and control problems is stated. Necessary conditions for optimality are obtained in the form of a coupled system of modified Riccati and Lyapunov equations. The results permit treatment of several new problems, such as reduced-order dynamic compensation with partially known disturbances and unified reduced-order control and estimation. Upon appropriate specialization, results obtained previously for the individual problems of reduced-order modelling, estimation and control are recovered. An additional feature is the inclusion of parameter uncertainty bounds so that the necessary conditions for an auxiliary minimization problem serve as sufficient conditions for simultaneous robust, reduced-order modelling, estimation and control.

摘要:
This paper is a self-contained discussion of a right factorization approach in the stability analysis of the non-linear continuous-time or discrete-time, time-invariant or time-varying, well-posed unity-feedback system S1(P, C). We show that a well-posed stable feedback system S1(P, C) implies that P and C have right factorizations. In the case where C is stable, P has a normalized right-coprime factorization. The factorization approach is used in stabilization and simultaneous stabilization results.

摘要:
Adaptation of the quantizer step-size is proposed as a potentially useful means of obtaining robust performance of the feedback-signal quantizer in digital control systems which are subject to wide fluctuations in mean-square plant disturbance. Design considerations for ‘one-word memory’ step-size adaptation algorithms are discussed, and simulation results are presented for examples. These results demonstrate the robust performance of the system over a wide range of plant disturbance variance.

摘要:
A remark in the paper quoted above was not correct. We show in fact that a (negative) theorem due to Francis and Zames, which describes limits in sensitivity minimization for rational non-minimum-phase plants, can be extended to any transfer function which has an inner factor approaching zero at some point, finite or infinite (in the right half-plane). That includes right half-plane zeros and multiplicative delays.
