摘要:
The problem of decoupling the inputs and outputs of non-linear control systems is considered for the situation where the system parameters are subject to variations or disturbances. The exact decoupling is obtained by an adaptive state feedback controller which requires full knowledge of the instantaneous values of the system parameters. By utilizing the parameter sensitivity concept an approximate adaptive decoupling controller is synthesized in the present paper which is shown to decouple the system to first (or higher) order in the variations of the system parameters from their known nominal values. The sensitivity equations which generate the state sensitivity function required for the synthesis are derived. The results of the paper actually provide the tools for reducing the system sensitivity to parameter variations when the final goal is the improvement of decoupling.

A simple test is given in analytic (matrix) terms which provides both necessary and sufficient conditions for arbitrary assignment of all of the system poles using only constant output feedback. A formula to determine the required output compensator is presented, and the whole procedure is illustrated by an example.

Both types of linear and non-linear systems with random coefficients are treated in this paper. Four theorems are proved by using the stochastic Liapunov functional, which give the sufficient condition in matrix form for exponential asymptotic stability in the largo with probability one and L2-bounded stability with probability one.

The identification problem is transformed to an optimal control problem, which is then solved using dynamic-programming formulation. Examples illustrating the use of the techniques are presented.

摘要:
A suboptimal control algorithm for distributed parameter systems is developed in a framework which synthesizes weighted residual methods and mathematical programming. The heat exchanger example of Koppelet al. (1968) is employed for introducing the algorithm. First, the Galerkin procedure with polynomial modes is applied to obtain a lumped ODE model for the distributed parameter system. Then the state and control variables of the lumped control problem are approximated by cubic splines on a uniform mesh. Through collocation at the knots, the ODE model is reduced to a sot of linear algebraic equations and the suboptimal control is determined from the solution of a quadratic programming problem withsparsematrices.

Kosonbrock's inverse Nyquist array (I.N.A.) theory for linear multivariable control Bystema with constant feedback elements is extended, to include systems lip to m nonlinear feedback elements, where the system hasminputs andmoutputs. This extension is achieved by considering the Popov criterion for the most general case and through two further theorems. It shows that, as in the ease of Rosenbrock's I.N.A. theory, when certain auxiliary conditions are met with the help of suitable controllers, the design of multivariable controllers containing many non-linear feedbacks, can be based on themfrequency response loci corresponding to the diagonal entries of the open-loop inverse transfer function matrix. This leads to a simple design technique identical to the I.N.A. design method, suitable for use with a computer-aided design facility which permits a designer to use his intuitive understanding of transfer functions based on classical theory. The I.N.A. theory has been extended by Rosenbrock to cover systems having non-linear, time-varying feedback elements very recently.

The problem of approximate pole placement in linear time-invariant systems is generalized to include the case in which the controllable, observable plant of order n is augmented by o, fixed order compensator. It is shown how a low-order compensator may be obtained such that the eigenvalues of the closed-loop system are close to a set of preassigned values.

Optimal control of a type-one, second-order system is obtained by simple phase-lag compensation. Optimization is effected to minimize the integral of the error squared plus a weighted value of the control vector squared. Sub-optimal control of a zero-type, second-order system is also achieved by conventional compensating networks, where the difference of performance between the optimal and sub-optimal systems is marginal.
