摘要:
A quadratic performance index together with a set of prescribed closed-loop eigenvalues are considered as criteria for designing linear multi-variable control systems. A method is developed for finding the weighting matrix elements that correspond to the given eigenvalues. The method is completely general as to system structure and is easy to implement computationally. It is also shown how the method may be used to design optimal estimators with prescribed eigenvalues. Several examples are presented to illustrate the use of the method.

摘要:
This paper presents a method of analysing the stability of an on-off control system using feedback proportional to the square of velocity. It aims at the determination of the hysteresis level of the relay required to make the system self-oscillating at a particular amplitude and frequency. Using these results frequency response of the system is obtained. Some of the results obtained from this method are verified by analogue simulation.

摘要:
A method which enables the solution of linear programming problems without knowledge aprioriof both an objective function and restrictions is presented in the paper. It is based upon the well-known method of feasible directions which it also becomes after a finite number of steps. It consists in the step-by-step approximation of the gradient of the objective function with use of measurements on the investigated system. Each step of these measurements enables an improvement of the state of the System.

摘要:
Necessary conditions are derived for the optimal pulse-modulated control of multi-variable systems with delays depending on time and state. The conditions are obtained in the most general form for aperiodically modulated control signals. They are applied to the particular cases of PA, PW, PA-PW and PPM controllers.

摘要:
The paper develops an algorithm by which the best input equations of a T-G flip-flop can be determined. The algorithm consists of rules for plotting the 1, 0 and “don't-care” terms from the map of the application equation onto the maps of input equations. It turns out that the 0's of the Q¯ half can be plotted in two different ways. The paper shows how this property can be judiciously exploited to produce input equations with the least-cost function. A systematic procedure to achieve this has also been described.

摘要:
This paper proposes some mathematical relations that may be used to describe conditions in systems after connections have been altered. The common rules of conservation of charge and flux emerge as particular instances of these more general relations. The results obtained apply in systems containing amplifiers (subject to model adequacy)—a case excluded by the normal conservation stipulations.
