摘要:
A simple mechanical system capable of evaluating the contour integrals involved in the transformation calculations between frequency (or Laplace) and time domains, as developed by the author, is outlined in this paper. Given the frequency response of any linear system, this machine evaluates the transient response. In addition to being useful for such domain transformations, it also analyses periodic functions for their Fourier coefficients.

摘要:
An exact method of analysis of non-linear systems containing a two-position relay element and a dead-time element is given using the phase-plane concept. Equations of the switching lines for both unsymmetrical and symmetrical relay characteristics are obtained under consideration of the dead time. Expressions to evaluate the period and amplitude of the self-oscillation of the system are derived from the stable limit cycle in the phase plane.

A method is proposed for the design of a linear, time-invariant state feedback control for a linear, time-invariant, finite-dimensional system with infinite duration of control (regulator problem), which makes use of only those state variables which are available for measurement, providing that these are sufficient to render the system stable. The expected value vector and the covariance matrix for the initial state are presumed to be known.

摘要:
The bounded energy optimal control problem, for a class of heat conduction systems, is posed. The response of the system is approximated by using the method of moments. This approximation serves for constructing a non-linear integral equation, the solutions of which tire the optimal controls. A method for solving this equation is described and on example illustrates the computational scheme.

摘要:
A method of constructing Liapunov functions for linear time-varying (LTV) systems to conclude asymptotic stability in the large of motions is proposed. The way different Liapunov functions may give different sets of sufficient conditions is analysed. Liapunov functions are formed for certain types of LTV systems which are analogous to non-asymptotically stable linear time-invariant systems, A transformation matrix is found which is useful in the evaluation of Liapunov functions for nth order systems in phase variable form where the coefficient an(t) is zero.
