Multivariate variable structure systems in the sliding mode are studied using a geometric approach. The properties of system order reduction and disturbance rejection are proved using projector theory. New design methods for the choice of switching hyperplanes are derived for the closed-loop eigenvalue/eigenvector assignment problem.

摘要:
In this paper a method is developed for the design of Luenberger-type observers for linear time-invariant control systems whose state equation is of the form Ex= Ax+ Bu where E is a singular square matrix. The method is based on the singular-value decomposition of the matrix E, and on the reduction of the equation Ex= Ax +Bu to a system consisting of a differential equation of the form w1, = F1w1+ F2+ w2+G1u and an algebraic equation of the form H1w1+H2w2+ G1u = 0. If w2can be eliminated from the differential equation by the aid of the algebraic equation and the original output equation of the system, the method yields a reduced-order observer for the generalized state space system.

摘要:
A one-dimensional Wiener plus independent Poisson control process has an integrated, discounted non-quadratic cost function with asymmetric bounds on the non-anticipative control, assumed to be a function of the current state. A Bellman equation and maximum principle for partial differential-difference equations may be used to obtain the optimal closed-loop control if some assumptions on the asymptotic behaviour of certain partial differential-difference equations are met. The finite and infinite integral cases are treated separately.

摘要:
This paper examines the possibility of using non-linear comparison systems in the stability analysis of non-linear dynamical systems. Stability criteria and estimates of the stability region of non-linear comparison systems are established. It is shown that the use of non-linear comparison systems may lead to less conservative results than those obtained by linear ones.
