摘要:
A new interpretation of the well-known Wiener-Hopf orH2-optimal sensitivity is provided. It is shown thatH2-optimal sensitivity minimizes the L∞norm of the error signal and optimizes uniformly over all inputs in the unit ball inH2.

摘要:
In this paper, a method for the specification of a supervisor for a discrete event system in terms of a legal constraint language which is defined in terms of illegal states and event sequences is proposed. This is a natural manner for the specification of mutual exclusion and synchronization requirements. A procedure for the synthesis of a supervisor which enforces the legal constraint language is also discussed.

摘要:
A stabilization method for linear systems with non-commensurate delays in both state and control variables is presented. This method is obtained by combining the algebraic stabilization method with the finite spectrum assignment method. The present method can stabilize systems that algebraic methods cannot.

摘要:
In this work, an approach to stabilizing compensator design is presented that is suitable for a large class of discrete-time non-linear stochastic systems with incomplete state information. The non-linearity is contained either in the state or the measurement equation and it involves a white-noise vector sequence. The proposed compensator is a combination of a constant gain observer and a constant feedback control gain. The stabilizability conditions depend upon the system and chosen design parameter characteristics and are given for both mean-square and almost sure stochastic boundedness and stability of the controlled system. A specific subclass of these systems, subject to certain control laws, is shown to possess stabilizability conditions that can be testeda priori.

摘要:
A direct solution to the almost input-output and disturbance decoupling problem is given. The approach is based on a new canonical form for linear systems—which is obtained in a fully constructive way—together with some elementary approximation results. The solution is given in the form of an explicit feedback law, parameterized by a scalar ϵ. By letting ϵ go to zero, the accuracy of the resulting approximate solution can be improved to any desired degree.

摘要:
This paper is concerned with the use of an iterative technique in the identification of non-linear systems which comprise both dynamic linear elements and static nonlinear elements. In particular, it has been applied to the case in which a linear element is embedded between two non-linear elements, this being a case in which conventional methods are not usually applicable. It is assumed that test data are available for the application of an input pulse of fixed width and variable amplitude and the requirement is to identify the individual elements without reference to signals at the internal nodes. Successful results are reported for a range of simulated systems. The effect of noise is discussed and its effect measured in simulations.

摘要:
A procedure for eigenvalue assignment in a single-input linear system in Hessenberg form is described. The procedure uses real arithmetic throughout and includes a facility for estimating the robustness of the assigned eigenvalues. The assigned eigenvalues may be real or complex, simple or multiple.

摘要:
Linear time-invariant systems of the form E dx/dt=Ax + Bu are considered, where E is a square matrix that may be singular and x is a column vector called the descriptor vector of the system. It is assumed that for any admissible initial descriptor vector x(0—), any control vector u(t) yields one and only one descriptor vector x(t). The problem is this: find a control vector u(t) that will drive the descriptor vector of the system from a fixed vector x(0—) to a (not necessarily fixed) final descriptor vector x(tf) while, together with some (not a priori fixed) final time tf, minimizing a cost functional J = 1/21∫0( xTQx + uTRu) dt. Using elementary matrix and variational techniques, necessary conditions are derived for the existence of minima of J; the problem of finding sufficient conditions for the existence of minima of J is not considered. The general results are applied to the special case E = diag { In−m, 0}, B = [o, Im]. The problem of choosing the matrix Q of the cost functional is investigated. A simple illustrative example is discussed.
