摘要:
As shown in Grabowski (1983), the problem of evaluation of the quadratic performance index for delay-differential systems of neutral type can be effectively solved by the use of Lyapunov functionals. In this paper another solution to that problem, based on the frequency-domain approach, is proposed. With the use of Plancherel's theorem and other tools of complex analysis, this task is reduced to a Riemann-Hilbert problem, an explicit solution to which is found by elementary methods. Our results can be regarded as a generalization of those due to Walton and Marshall (1984, 1987). Two simple examples of application are also provided.

摘要:
The stabilization of two-dimensional non-linear control systems is treated, although the main technique is applicable to more general systems. It combines the theory of centre manifolds and singularities of algebraic functions to design continuous, but not necessarily Lipschitz, stabilizing feedback control laws. In particular, the devices known as the Newton diagram and the Newton or Puiseux polygon are employed to construct uniformizing transformations. Finally, remarks are made about systems for which no continuous stabilizing feedback control law exists.

摘要:
The problem of assessing the robust stability of a closed-loop system subject to plant uncertainty is addressed. Earlier techniques allow only a limited amount of structure information uncertainty and thus can often lead to conservative results. A technique for increasing the bound over the stability margin is presented which may be applied together with the cross-condition number to compute a stability margin for highly structured uncertainty regions. A sample application is given to show the improvements that can be obtained by using the proposed technique in practical situations.

In this note, the interval matrix result for discrete linear interval system by Jiang (1988) is shown to be incorrect, i.e. all eigenvalues of each matrixAϵA1(an interval matrix) have magnitudes less than 1 if and only if all the eigenvalues of every ‘extreme matrix’ of the interval matrixA1have magnitudes less than 1.
