摘要:
A frequency domain approach for reducing linear, time-invariant systems is presented which produces stable approximations of stable systems. The method is based upon the Schwarz canonical form and is shown to have a continued-fraction representation. A link between this method and the popular Routh approximation is also given. Further, the Schwarz approximation is combined with a moments-matching technique to improve steady-state responses to step and polynomial inputs. Examples are given to illustrate the methods.

摘要:
The paper studies the servo problem when a disturbance signal is applied at the compensator's input. It is shown that the compensator must provide an ‘ inverse internal model’ (defined in a precise sense) of the disturbance signal besides the (direct) internal model of the signal to be tracked.

摘要:
In this comment, it is shown that the algorithm developed to solve a problem of bounded-variable programming (BLP), by Kim and Bien (1981), includes some errors and some details are missing. Here, a modified algorithm is proposed.

摘要:
The conditions for commutativity of two second-order time-varying systems presented recently (Köksal 1982) are shown not to be necessary. Necessary and sufficient conditions are presented for the commutativity of two time-varying systems, from a certain class of systems of order not greater than two.
