摘要:
For matrixA, with off–diagonal elements not necessarily of the same sign, conditions are obtained for the existence of a positive definite diagonal matrixW, such that matrixWA + AtWis positive definite; and the applications of the latter to the determination of the stability of interval matrices are considered.

摘要:
The constrained optimal periodic control problem is approximated by a sequence of discretized problems in which the system of differential equations of the basic continuous problem is replaced by a system of one–step difference equations. Two kinds of approximate optimal controls are derived from the optimal solutions of discretized problems: the first in the form of a step function and the second in the form of a special trigonometric polynomial generated by a positive kernel. Sufficient conditions for approximate solutions to be weakly convergent to the optimal solution of the basic problem are given. Certain improvements in the difference approximation considered are discussed and potential applications given.

摘要:
It is shown that for low-pass systems the fractional-order hold and the pulse amplitude modulation signal reconstruction methods produce an inverse stable sampled transfer function H(z) in some cases when zero-order hold fails to do so. Therefore they may be desirable alternatives to the zero-order hold reconstruction in certain control problems. The problem of how well H(z) models the continuous G(s) is also discussed.

摘要:
Singular systems of the form Eẋ = ƒ(x,u,t) are considered, whereEis a square matrix and may be singular. It is assumed that for any ‘admissible’ initial statex(t0), any controlu(t) εUyields one and only one continuous statex(t), and there is one and only one continuous adjoint state λ(t). The formulae for functional variation are derived; the necessary condition for optimality—the maximum principle—is obtained; the boundary conditions for the adjoint equations of the singular systems are given; and the necessary and sufficient condition for optimality of linear singular systems is derived.

摘要:
This paper is concerned with the weak inherent coupling problem of the system S(A, B, C, E). Using state space parameters a minimal-order precompensator and a static feedback pair (F*,G*) are computed to decouple the given system. The compensated system is shown to be irreducible. The algorithm presented can also be used for computing the infinite-zero structure from the state space parameters alone. Moreover, the design procedure is simple and applicable to general systems (E ≠ 0).

摘要:
A reduced–order model for a multi–input single–output or a single–input multi–output continuous system is proposed. The model is especially suitable for the case where accuracy in the high-frequency region is important. It also satisfies basic conditions for reduced-order models, such as uniqueness, stability, and a simple calculation requirement. Chained aggregation with the minimization of truncation errors introduces an internal system representation characterized by a system matrix of Hessenberg form and a diagonalized covariance matrix.

摘要:
This paper investigates the control of laminar combustion processes represented by a class of one–dimensional, non-linear, reaction–diffusion equations. The control objective is to regulate the spatial location of a propagating flame front dynamically by varying the fuel-air velocity. It is shown that when viewed from an input–output perspective, the problem is equivalent to the control of a system consisting of linear elements and a single time-varying non–linear element. The system is controlled using a linear compensator that is designed based on an H∞(minimax) optimality criterion.

摘要:
In this paper, a finite–series expansion method is presented for the analysis and parameter identification of a discrete non-linear system that is described by a Hammerstein model consisting of a memoryless gain of polynomial form followed by a linear discrete system. By expanding the system variables in discrete Legendre orthogonal polynomials (DLOPs) and using the shift and product operational properties of DLOPs, the Hammerstein model is converted into a set of linear equations in the DLOP coefficients of unknown output variables and in the system parameters. This converted set of linear algebraic equations is convenient for finding the DLOP coefficients of unknown variables. Also, it allows one to determine the unknown system parameters using the least-squares method when the system input and output data are available.

摘要:
Jiang (1987) gave a sufficient condition for the asymptotic stability of interval matrices. We shall show here that his results can be derived in a trivial way using the Lyapunov equation. An extension of his results and a similar result for discrete systems is stated.
