摘要:
A correspondence between input estimation (deconvolution) and feedforward is discussed from a polynomial point of view. Optimal estimation and feedforward control filters are derived from a spectral factorization and a polynomial equation. Simple loop transformations are used for transforming one problem into the other. The close relationship cannot be explained by the well-known duality between optimal state estimation and feedback control. Instead, it rests on the fact that both the problems discussed are open loop. They can be seen as two interpretations of one underlying design problem. Several other open-loop problems can be described in this framework.

A new two-dimensional stability test is proposed, based on the stability robustness analysis of a relevant 1-D system family. A linear algebra type algorithm for numerical implementation of the test is also described. Two examples then follow, to illustrate the use of the algorithm and the feasibility of the proposed test.

摘要:
The H∞optimal controller for 1-block problems is shown to have a McMillan degree bound of n, where n is the degree of the plant. An example is given where the bound is attained. The result follows simply from the work of Limebeer and Anderson (1987) and Limebeer and Hung (1987), who (because of a small oversight) derived a bound of n - 1. Problems for which the bound is n - 1 are characterized.

Jiang (1988) gives a sufficient and necessary condition for the asymptotic stability of a discrete linear interval system. It is here demonstrated through counter-examples that the condition isnotsufficient. The flaw leading to this erroneous result is also indicated.

摘要:
Shafai (1988) proposed a state observer design algorithm which is very slightly different from an earlier algorithm of Tsui (1985). Furthermore, the change made by Shafai severely worsens the parallel computation property, the only key property of his algorithm claimed by Shafai. It is important to mention that this comment is obviously valid for the dual version of Shafai's algorithm (state feedback design for pole assignment), which has appeared elsewhere several times recently.
