摘要:
A two-stage automotive gas turbine is subjected to an identification exercise. The system is studied using digital frequency response estimation procedures, and locally linearized transfer functions are obtained which span the normal working region of the engine.

摘要:
Using insight gained from a frequency-domain identification experiment a simple analytical model is formulated for an automotive gas turbine. With a structural model based upon the analytical model a linear parametric representation is obtained by fitting to time-response data over the normal operating band of the engine.

摘要:
A method is presented which reduces the problem of determining the output feedback modal (eigenvalue or pole) control matrixKof a system to an explicit linear set of equations in the elements ofKthrough the use of the Kronecker product. This set of equations is then partitioned into two subsets, one that constitutes the sufficient conditions for the existence of a solution and, provided this is consistent, a second subset that yields the desired modal control matrix.

摘要:
Two sufficient conditions for the solution of the discrete infinite-time linear regulator are stated and proved. If any of these conditions are satisfied, the time-variant gain feedback control which was previously shown (Bar-Nesa 1975 b) to be ft necessary form of optimal control turns out to be also sufficient. Furthermore, it is shown that for the timo-invariant case a conventional controllability condition is sufficient for optimality of the constant gain feedback control.

摘要:
The open-loop input—output dynamics and the noise dynamics of a feedback controlled linear system perturbed by coloured noise admitting a Markov representation are identified in state variable form using a two-stage algorithm. This system is equivalent to an augmented system driven by white noise.

摘要:
The problem of identifying constant and variable parameters in multi-input, multi-output, linear and non-linear systems is considered, using the maximum likelihood approach. An iterative algorithm, leading to recursive identification and tracking of the unknown parameters and the noise covariance matrix, is developed. Agile tracking and accurate and unbiased identified parameters are obtained. Necessary conditions for a globally, asymptotically stable identification process are provided ; the conditions proved to be useful and efficient. Among different cases studied, the stability derivatives of an aircraft were identified and some of the results are shown as examples.

摘要:
In attempting to identify the dynamic characteristics of a large medium-speed diesel engine using pseudo-random binary sequence (p.r.b.s.) and cross-correlation techniques inconsistent results were obtained. The cause of these is due to the sampled-data nature of the diesel engine operation and the difficulties were compounded by having to run so large an engine under closed-loop control conditions for safety reasons.

摘要:
Time-domain analysts is used to examine the stability of sampled-data feedback systems comprising a time-varying plant and a time-varying non-linearity. Three aspects of the systems dynamic response are given a unified treatment : bounded-ness. unboundedness, and asymptotic decay. In addition to qualitative criteria, the results provide quantitative bounds on the system response, and indicate its explicit dependence on the sampling rate.

摘要:
When an unrestricted rank state feedback control matrix K is used for exact pole assignment, in an nth-order, r-input linear time-invariant systemẋ =Ax+Bu, n × (r— 1)degrees of freedom are available for optimizing additional criteria if necessary. In this paper it is shown how this design freedom can be utilized to minimize the sensitivity of the closed-loop poles to variations in the matrices B and K. (Variations inAare discussed in another paper.) Minimization of the magnitudes of the elements of K is also discussed. The advantage of using a controller of unrestricted rank over a unity rank controller (which gives only r—1 degrees of freedom) is shown. The use of the. available design freedom to assign eigenvectors is also discussed.
