摘要:
This paper shows that from the input-output relationship point of view a linear dynamical system represented by a state equation (A, B, C, D) can be expressed as a serially connected composite system of a triangularly decoupled system and a linear system represented by (A, B, C, D) with a non-singularD. This expression can be considered as a generalization of Silverman's inversion algorithm and relates Wolovich and Falb's canonical form, and makes it possible to treat easily problems using state feedback with dynamic feedforward compensation. A dual form of the composite expression is also given, which is used to determine the left, inverse system.

摘要:
This paper addresses the time propagation of triangular covariance factors. Attention is focused on the square-root free factorization,P =:UDUT, whereUis unit upper triangular andDis diagonal. An efficient and reliable algorithm forU-Dpropagation is derived which employs Gram-Schmidt orthogonalization. Partitioning the state vector to distinguish bias and coloured process noise parameters increases mapping efficiency. Cost comparisons of theU-D, Schmidt square-root covariance and conventional covariance propagation methods are made using weighted arithmetic operation counts. TheU-Dtime update is shown to be less costly than the Schmidt method ; and, except in unusual circumstances, it is within 20% of the cost of conventional propagation.

摘要:
The present paper deals with a minimum effort control problem with a control performance index and a time optimal control problem with multiple control constraints of linear continuous systems. The problems are reduced to finding the predual norms and anL-problem in the theory of moments is used to obtained the solutions.

摘要:
An imbedding solution for the matrix Riccati equation is presented in this paper. One or all of the system's matrices is first imbedded by introducing a parameter ∈, 0 ≤ ∈ 1 and then taking a total derivative of the Riccati equation which provides a Lyapunov equation. Making use of the solution of the latter equation the Riccati matrix is obtained by an integration in the space of the parameter ∈. The method can handle both stable and unstable systems. Three numerical examples illustrate the method, its imbedding scheme, and comparison with the exact and another iterative technique. The results show that for the cases where an approximate solution to the Riccati equation is needed, the method is rather attractive in both accuracy and speed. Very cheap solutions can be found with reasonable accuracy. For a fifteenth-order system, a solution within 0·4% of the exact answer was obtained in 30 sec on the HP-2100 computer.

摘要:
We consider the probability density functionp(y) of the outputy(t) of the first-order non linear systemẏ+β ƒ(y)=βx, wherex=x(t) is the random telegraph signal andƒ(·) is a non-linear function. Employing extended forms of the Fokker-Planck-Kolmogorov equation, the so-calledvth-order equations, a general expression is derived forp(y) and some specific eases are investigated. These results are applied to find the average number of zero and level-crossings per unit time of the output process.

摘要:
The paper introduces a new class of multi variable output feedback controllers consisting of proportional and multiple derivative terms. The closed-loop systems resulting from a general structure and a unity-rank structure controller are studied and it is found that the latter is preferable. A simple procedure is then described for the design of unity-rank controllers for pole placement in a linear multivariable system. It is shown that all system poles can be placed, provided the controller contains a sufficient number of derivative terms. For the case where the derivative terms are restricted, a method is given to place a number of poles. The methods are illustrated by numerical examples.
