摘要:
This paper deals with the control of a sequential machine whose model is not precisely known. The objective is to design a controller that assigns to the machine a prescribed steady-state behaviour. The results include necessary and sufficient conditions for the existence of a controller, as well as algorithms for its design. This work is motivated by potential applications in biology and in the correction of malfunctioning computer systems.

摘要:
In this paper we study the discrete and continuous timeH∞control problems without any assumptions on the system parameters. Our approach yields necessary and sufficient conditions for the existence of a suitable controller.

摘要:
This paper establishes a design technique that incorporates high-frequency design specifications into the framework of the LQG/LTR technique. This will be accomplished by augmenting plant input with extra dynamics. Singular perturbation techniques will be used to select input weighting functions for the LQR design. The change in nominal design due to the plant input augmentation will be quantified. An estimate of the change of the loop transfer function in the performance region will be determined.

摘要:
Minimal factorizations of nonlinear systems have been studied earlier. Here, non-minimal factorizations of nonlinear systems are studied for the case where the product contains no extra non-observable states (‘observable factorizations’). A description for all such factorizations is given in terms of invariant foliations of the system and its inverse. The results are applied to the special cases of stable factorizations (coprime).

摘要:
Explicit state-space formulae are presented for a two degree-of-freedom (2-DOF) controller that stabilizes an augmented plant with respect to unstructured additive coprime factor perturbations whilst simultaneously providing robust model following. The 2-DOF problem was known to inherit certain features of the McFarlane-Glover loop shaping design method, from which it is derived. In this paper, the precise structure of one admissible controller is derived. That structure is shown to comprise a state-estimator, an on-line step-response model, and an augmented state estimate feedback law. The formulae derived herein are applied to a classical nonlinear stabilization problem.

摘要:
This paper employs two-dimensional elementary operations to construct a number of singular and standard Roesser type state-space realizations of two-dimensional linear systems. The main result consists of the development of the basic algorithm together with some algebraic properties.

摘要:
Sliding mode control theory is applied to a class of distributed parameter systems. The viability of using symmetry groups to aid in feedback control of such systems is discussed. A conjecture is presented that leads to the calculation of the control law. To support the conjecture, the method is applied to the control of a chemical reactor.

摘要:
The H ∞ -control problem for time-varying discrete-time systems is considered. Necessary and sufficient conditions for the existence of a stabilizing suboptimal controller are given in terms of two Riccati equations. The uniform boundedness and the stabilizing property of the Riccati equations and Redheffer's lemma are discussed.
