摘要:
This paper addresses the following problem: Given a possibly non-stationary second-order or Gaussian stochastic process over a certain time interval, find all state-space realizations that produce the given process as their output. A constructive solution to this problem is described. In particular, the degrees of freedom left in this problem are explicitly displayed in terms of additional random variables and processes injected into the state-space description. Special attention is paid to output-induced, or internal, state-space realizations, that is, those for which the state vector is completely determined by the given process. The development is self-contained, the approach and proofs are fairly elementary, and explicit formulas are given for the various realizations.

摘要:
Harold Hazen made a significant contribution to the development of control systems during the 1920s and 1930s. He developed a high-performance electromechanical servomechanism, and clarified and extended the available analysis and design techniques for servomechanisms, including methods for relay systems

摘要:
In this paper the standard explicit self-tuning pole-assignment regulator is generalized to allow the output and/or input variances to be reduced. This is achieved by a suitable overparametrization of the controller polynomials allowing scope for optimization. In the regular case, simulation results indicate that the self-tuning property remains valid, and this is proved in a particular case. A reduced-variance servo controller is briefly discussed. The algorithms can give significant reductions in variance for little extra computational effort.

摘要:
A multivariable self-tuning control algorithm based on the model-following approach is proposed in this paper. Reference is made to systems described by ARM AX models with an a apriori known interactor matrix. The cost function is defined in terms of variance of the norm of a suitably defined generalized error. A ‘detuned’ version of the model-following procedure is also given so as to cope with non-minimum phase systems. The proposed algorithm is finally applied to the self-tuning control problem of a simulated binary distillation column.

摘要:
This paper deals with the problems of constructing a compensator for linear multi-variable systems that simultaneously ensures: (I) model-following with stability and (ii) disturbance rejection. Necessary and sufficient conditions for the solvability of the problems are given by using a geometric approach. The solvability conditions are explicit and the constructive procedure for finding a solution does not require any additional conditions for the plant.

摘要:
An extension of a monovariable adaptive control algorithm is given for the multi-variable case. A linear constant feedforward controller and a non-linear feedback one are used for the design. Four control schemes are analysed which allow independent specification of the objectives of regulation and tracking of a given model. Under not very strong conditions, the global convergence of the given schemes is ensured.

摘要:
A design method based on pole assignment considerations for an nth order linear time-invariant single-input p-output system by means of static (constant gain) feedback is presented for the case in which the rank p of an output matrix C is less than the number of system states n. The constraints in pole assignment are described in the form of linear relationships between the coefficients of the closed-loop characteristic polynomial and some open-loop system parameters. It has been shown that the problem of pole assignment is equivalent to the problem of solving a set of n linear equations with p unknowns in such a way that n – p equations are made linearly dependent by proper choice of coefficients of the closed-loop characteristic polynomial. As a result, all n system poles can be shifted to selected locations which satisfy the constraints. Of particular interest are the design methods for the cases when the number of arbitrarily assigned poles are equal to p and p – I.

摘要:
This paper is concerned with explicit pole-assignment self-tuning schemes. Previously, various regulator algorithms (that is, constant set-point) have been developed using ‘least-squares’ estimation while servo-tracking has required the use of ‘extended least-squares’ estimation. A unified overview is given here of previously developed schemes and a new algorithm is presented for servo-tracking using least-squares estimation.

摘要:
The mean-square asymptotic stability of the equilibrium stale of a system of linear stochastic delay-differential equations with general non-stationary random coefficients is studied. The Lyapunov method of stability analysis is employed and several criteria for the mean-square stability of the equilibrium state of the system are established. A few examples are solved and the application of the method is discussed.

摘要:
Using elementary properties of passive systems we prove that if a linear system has a non-negative convex impulse response then its feedback connection with any non-linearity whose characteristic lies in finite sectors of the first and third quadrant is stable.
