摘要:
Now techniques are developed for achieving a maximum number of zero entries in the closed-loop transfer matrices of left invertible, linear multivariable systems through the employment of linear state variable feedback in conjunction with input dynamic compensation. Necessary and sufficient conditions are also presented for obtaining desired non-interactive structures for this class of systems. The question of simultaneous stabilization of the decoupled structures is also fully resolved. The procedures employed provide new insight regarding some related disturbance rejection questions. Numerous examples are presented in order to illustrate and clarify the presentation.

The geometric nature of the infinite zeros of the root-loci of linear multivariate systems is investigated using the canonical form derived by Morse (1973). It is shown that an invertible systemS(A, B, C)has integer-order infinite zeros in the generic case equal to the controllability indices of a pair(A + KC, B), that suitable choice of proportional output feedback guarantees the absence of other than integer-order zeros and that the orders and asymptotic directions of the infinite zeros are independent of constant state feedback and output injection.

The classical work by Nyquist and Bode and its extensions to the multivariable case are based on a frequency-response approach to feedback systems. Modern state-space techniques, on the other hand, make use of an internal system description as dictated by a set of first-order linear differential equations. Relevant to both approaches is the problem of frequency propagation which in this paper is seen as the means of unifying the external and internal system description. The inextricable association of frequency transmission with the concept of(A, B)-invariant subspaces and controllability subspaces empowers this approach with the ability to effect a penetrating study of a number of aspects of linear system behaviour such as the restriction of the state vector in given subspaces and the characterization of such subspaces, the characterization of multivariate zeros and the categorization of systems into degenerate and non-degenerate. In this paper the study of the transmission of a particular frequency, or a set of particular frequencies, leads to the definition of monofrequency transmission subspaces and multifrequency transmission subspaces respectively. Futher investigation of the properties of these subspaces yields insight into the geometric structure of linear multivariate systems and suggests techniques of practical use to the feedback designer. One such technique discussed in this paper concerns the placement of eigenvectors and provides the geometric means for the derivation of solutions to the pole-placement problem.

A synthesis technique is presented for stable discrete model reference adaptive control systems. In the adaptive system the process parameters are adjusted indirectly according to a discrete gradient law. The stability of the adaptive scheme is demonstrated by Liapunov's second method.

摘要:
This paper presents a new scheme for designing the discrete model reference adaptive control system for the single-input, single-output linear plant, based on the augmented error signal concept and Popov's hyperstability theorem. The proposed scheme enables us to synthesize a stable adaptive control system through a simple and systematic design procedure, using no anticipative values of the plant output. The usefulness of the scheme is demonstrated by the computer simulations performed for a second-order plant.

摘要:
An overall evaluation of the computational efficiency of two decentralized optimal control approaches, namely, the non-singular perturbation and the hierarchical control approaches, is performed in order to provide the grounds for a quantitative comparison between them. The linear-quadratic regulator problem is adopted as the vehicle to conduct the comparative study. Major conclusions drawn from this comparison are the computational superiority, wide applicability and potential flexibility of the hierarchical control approach over the non-singular perturbation approach.

The steady-state optimal control of a linear time-invariant stochastic system by means of a minimal-order dual-observer-based compensator is considered in this paper. The structure of the compensator is fixed while the associated gains are to be chosen so as to minimize a quadratic penalty on the plant state. Necessary and sufficient conditions for optimality are given, and an explicit solution is displayed. Salient features pertaining to the optimal system are : a decoupling property, a projection property, and an innovation property. Finally, it is shown that this design corresponds to a singular LQG problem, which is precisely the dual of another singular LQG problem: namely Newmann's problem. A complete picture is then given showing clearly the correspondence between the two designs.

Relative controllability of non-linear time-varying systems with distributed delays in the control is considered. Using Schauder's fixed-point theorem, sufficient conditions for global relative controllability are given. The results obtained are a generalization of the results given by Davison and Ball (1972), Davison and Kunze (1970) and Klamka (1975 c, 1976 a, b).
