摘要:
When a linear system with delays is controlled by a non-linear element, periodic solutions can give important information about the stability of the entire system. The mathematical model of the system under investigation is described by a differential-difference equation. Two methods for finding a periodic solution of a linear inhomogeneous differential-difference equation are presented. By applying these techniques to second-order linear differential-difference equations, the two methods are compared and their value is discussed.

摘要:
This paper is concorned with the determination of the unknown parameters of noisy discreto time systems using discrete measurements on the input to and the state output from the system. The parameters are determined such that the assumed mathematical model explains the observed data in a least squares sense. Numerical experiments are included to illustrate the method.

摘要:
In this paper analytic procedures are developed for the synthesis of linear feedback systems. The primary design objective is to render the system's transmission properties insensitive to plant variations. There is a fundamental conflict between sensitivity and the output error which is introduced by measurement noise. The synthesis procedures specify the compensation networks which achieve the best noise immunity under the conditions of insensitivity.

摘要:
This paper contains three parts. In (a), the Fokker-Planck equation for a linear stochastic central system with additive disturbances is solved. The performance of the optimal system possesses a term for cost duo to the random disturbances at the input. In (b), the optimal control law for a linear system subject to stochastic fluctuations in its parameters and additive disturbances at the input is derived. Stability conditions of the optimal system are considered. In (c), the optimal control of a linear system subject to parametric fluctuations of the truncated white noise type is considered. The corresponding modified Fokker-Planck equation is given, from which the stability conditions of the optimal system are obtained. A second-order example is given to illustrate the methods.

摘要:
In this paper, sufficient conditions for stability and complete stability of equilibrium of a mixed distributed and lumped parameter feed-back control system are established. The system is in the form of a parabolic partial differential equation coupled with a set of first-order non-linear ordinary differential equations. The results represent generalizations of those obtained earlier by the author (Wang 1966).

摘要:
In this paper the stability problem of a low-order non-linear feedback control system is investigated with the help of an r.m.s. describing function. A second-order system incorporating a backlash non-linearity is considered and it is shown that the r.m.s. describing function for the backlash element provides a more reliable locus in predicting the existence of ‘ limit cycle ’ oscillation in the system and in computing the value of the limit cycle parameters.

摘要:
This work discusses the mathematical description of distributed parameter systems, the statement of a maximum principle for a particular class of systems and the problems associated with approximating distributed systems by discretization into lumped systems for computational purposes. The gradient and quusi-linearization methods have been applied, perhaps for the first time, to a class of nonlinear distributed parameter systems. Examples concerning the optimal control of non-linear distributed regulator problems are presented.
