摘要:
The weighted minimum variance (WMV) controller is employed in a self-tuning control system for plants which can be multivariate and non-square. Both explicit and implicit self-tuning strategies are discussed. Existing strategies, based uponk-steps ahead cost functions, have stability problems on systems whose open-loop dynamics are both unstable and non-minimum phase. The WMV controller has the advantage that when plant parameters are known and the control weighting is zero, the optimal system is guaranteed to be stable.

摘要:
A novel self-tuning controller for multivariable systems is presented. The main goal of the paper is to derive an algorithm based on model-following ideas and requiring only a partial knowledge of the system interactor matrix. The assumption is made that the system under control is described by a CARIMA model. It is shown that the closed-loop system exhibits integrating properties, thus ensuring the robust rejection of constant load disturbances acting on the controlled plant. Finally, simulated examples are described which illustrate the main features of the proposed technique.

摘要:
A self-tuning control scheme is presented which provides a feedforward facility for systems having variable time-delays. Previously reported algorithms have in general assumed that the system time-delays are both constant and known and have been unable to adequately cope with the situation where the delay associated with the feedforward disturbance is less than the delay associated with the control input. The self-tuning algorithm proposed has a structure which can cater not only for this condition, but also accommodate independently varying time-delays. The onlya prioriknowledge concerning the delays is their respective maximum values.

摘要:
This paper solves the digital stationary optimal control problem in the case of scalar linear stochastic continuous-time systems with control delay, quadratic integral criteria, complete state information and constant sampling periods, by transforming the problem to an equivalent discrete-time one without control delay. Expressions are given for the eigenvalues of the control system and the parameters of the feedback matrix. The influence of the sampling period on the cost is investigated for different values of the control delay by means of some examples.

摘要:
This paper deals with the non-linear oscillations arising from the use of a class of adaptive sampling laws. A method is proposed which diminishes the drawbacks related to the appearance of such oscillations.

摘要:
In this paper we tackle, for affine non-linear systems, the ‘Morgan Problem’, i.e. the scalar-input-scalar-output decoupling problem for square systems, with dynamic compensation. The result provided here (Theorem 3.1) generalizes that one previously given by Wang (1970) for linear systems.

摘要:
Applications of the shifted Legendre polynomial expansion to the analysis and identification of the non-linear system described by a Hammerstein model which consists of a single-valued non-linearity followed by a linear plant are studied. For the analysis, by using the shifted Legendre polynomial expansion, the solution of a non-linear state equation is reduced to the solution of a linear algebraic matrix equation. For the identification, through the shifted Legendre expansions of the measured input-output data, the unknown parameters of both the linear plant and the characterization of the non-linear element are estimated using the least-squares method. Algorithms are presented. Numerical examples are given to illustrate the use of this approach.

摘要:
In the first part of this paper we develop general algorithms from the Kronecker normal form of any matrix pencil, and give some of their properties. In the second part these results are applied to the so-called restricted matrix pencil associated with a given (C, A, B) system and introduced by Jaffe and Karcanias (1981). This allows us to make a link with well known algorithms of the geometric approach, particularly the (A, B)-invariant subspace algorithm and the almost (A, B)-controllability subspace algorithm. Finally, relationships between Morse's invariants (Morse 1973) and the invariants of the restricted matrix pencil are exhibited.

摘要:
Realization of singular systems via Markov parameters An algorithm is developed via the Markov parameters for the construction of minimal, finite-dimensional realizations of linear, time-invariant, discrete-time singular systems, when the external description, such as the impulse response matrix or the frequency response matrix, is given. The presented algorithm needs only simple numerical operations, and it may lead to every possible realization of a given input-output relation.
