摘要:
The effects on the stability of continuous first and second-order systems due to pure time delays in the control loop are examined and stability boundaries are presented. Similar stability boundaries for sampled first and second-order systems are presented and compared against the boundaries for the continuous case.

摘要:
The identification of parameters in large dynamic systems is difficult because of the excessive computational time required to solve the large number of differential equations occurring. A method of solving these equations is presented which for the identification problem enables solutions to be quiekly obtained. The identification of parameters is then achieved by hill climbing on the unknown parameters in the mathematical model.

摘要:
A method is given whereby a non-linear circuit may be synthesized on a computer. The analogue of the method presented here for a linear circuit would be its transfer function. It is shown how to expand the non-linear circuit in an orthogonal series and then how to determine the coefficients of this orthogonal series.

摘要:
A method of optimally regulating a class of stochastic linear systems relative to quadratic performance criteria is presented. The class of stochastic systems considered are those whose dynamics are described by an nth order stochastic linear differential equation. The system input is passed through a randomly varying gain. The control function is taken to be unconstrained in magnitude. The stochastic processes treated are increments of Brownian motion and generalized Poisson.

摘要:
The formulation of state-space equations is discussed for a general class of nonlinear networks, and a block diagram derived summarizing the general non-linear network state-space relationships. Certain special forms of the nonlinear state-space equations are then derived for restricted classes of network; these are the Brayton-Moser equations, the Lagrangian and co-Lagrangian equations and the Hamiltonian equations.

摘要:
A relationship between the constant coefficients of the characteristic equation and the elements of the constant matrixAis determined. When the state-space approach is used, the use of this relationship reduces the work involved in expanding the dot (zI — A) which gives the characteristic equation of a stationary linear system. This overcomes the main drawback in applying the modified Routh criterion in the stability study of high-order linear time-invariant sampled-data systems.

Conditional probability distributions and state spaces of a special class of distributed parameter systems subject to a special class of distributive random inputs are denned. Fokker—Planck equation technique is employed to obtain explicit solutions of conditional probability density functions.

摘要:
The effect of anisotropy torque on rotation of magnetization in thin magnetic films is discussed on the basis of a simple rotational model. This leads to the possibility of improvement of non-destructive read-out, making use of a possible speeding up of the process of rotation of magnetization. Some calculations and curves are given to demonstrate the effectiveness of anisotropy torque and possible read-out techniques are described.
