摘要:
In this paper the problem of decoupling multivariable control systems is treated using the methods of optimal control. It is shown that by introducing the concept ofvirtual model followingthe parameters of decoupling gain matrices and dynamic compensators come out from an optimization process that allows one to perform any trade-off between the degree of decoupling, the degree of matching ideal decoupled transfer functions and the control amplitudes needed

摘要:
This paper presents some explicit results on solution, stability, and transformation of a fairly broad class of linear time-varying systems. It is shown that for this special class of linear time-varying systems, the solution can be represented as a product of two matrix exponential functions and the system stability can be determined directly from eigenvalues of two constant matrices. Furthermore, the system can be reduced to a linear time-invariant system by successive applications of an algebraic transformation and a t↔τ transformation. The generalized results given here contain several previously reported results as special cases.

摘要:
In this paper an algorithm has been developed for the optimal cóntrol of time-delay systems for the quadratic cost functional through the dynamic programming approach. The delays can occur both in the state as well as in the control. Discrete dynamic programming has been applied to the sampled version of the system equation, leading to the algorithm, which has, then, been extended to cover the multiple delays case. Two examples have been solved to illustrate the results

摘要:
A dual-space method for solving linear control problems of ‘ Minimum Peak Amplitude ’ type is proposed. Grimmell's work using minimum-norm pro-images is shown to be complemented in a natural way by a recent development due to Vinter. The two approaches are critically compared and then harnessed together in the solution of a worked example. The practical significance of Minimum Peak Amplitude problems is also discussed briefly

摘要:
The minimum-variance state-estimator for a class of linear distributed parameter systems, with both process and measurement disturbances, is derived. A new algorithm is presented for the optimal simultaneous spatial allocation of sensors. The algorithm minimizes recursively the spatial integral of the covariancc matrix of the error in the state estimates. For time-invariant systems the algorithm leads to the minimization of the spatial integral of the steady-state error covariance matrix. The influence of the system disturbances and measurement noise on these locations is discussed. An illustrative example is given to demonstrate the numerical performance of the algorithm

摘要:
The Luenberger observer is frequently used for the state estimator of linear time-invariant control systems. However, it cannot be applied directly to the plant which has varying parameters. This paper provides an observer for this problem whose structure is not affected by the varying parameters of the plant. The results of this paper give the existence condition and the stability condition of such an observer and provide a direct design procedure. The extension of this idea to the design of an unknown input observer is also presented

摘要:
This paper presents a method of sensitivity analysis for the problem of economic dispatch of thermal power systems which takes into account both equality and inequality constraints. Such an analysis permits the determination of the parameters which have the greatest influence on the solution, thus pointing out the areas in which more accurate instrumentation might be required. The expected deterioration in system performance can also be calculated, at least to a first-order degree of accuracy.

摘要:
The transfer function matrix of a large multi-input/multi-output linear stochastic time-invariant control system may be computationally difficult to estimate and, further, may not provide a good interpretation of the underlying structure of the system. Priestley, Rao and Tong (1073) have suggested a method, using information theoretic and statistical criteria, for reducing the dimensions of such a system, and thus, to some extent, overcoming these difficulties. The authors have undertaken a computational study of the application of this theory, illuminating the problems encountered, and demonstrating the feasibility of the method in practice.

摘要:
An algorithm to compute a low order single input-single output linear dynamic model from a higher-order model is presented. The algorithm is based on minimizing the integral of the squared error between the Step responses of the original system and the low-order system. The method utilizes an analytical form for the original model but the technique could ho extended to treat experimental data and to handle time delays. A numerical example shows that the algorithm is quite efficient
