摘要:
This paper considers a stable state observer for bilinear systems. The design of the proposed observer is based on Lyapunov stability and the norm of the estimation error decays to zero exponentially irrespective of the input, although the estimation error itself depends on the input. Sufficient conditions are given for the existence of a stable observer. These conditions make it possible to design a stable observer for a class of bilinear systems, which has no observer by the other method.

摘要:
A sequential conjugate gradient-restoration algorithm is developed in order to solve optimal control problems involving a functional subject to differential constraints, nondifferential constraints, and terminal constraints. The algorithm is composed of a sequence of cycles, each cycle consisting of two phases, a conjugate gradient phase and a restoration phase.

摘要:
In Part I, Mieleet al.(1979) developed the sequential conjugate gradient-restoration algorithm for minimizing a functional subject to differential constraints, nondifferential constraints, and terminal constraints. In this paper, several numerical examples are presented, some pertaining to a quadratic functional subject to linear constraints and some pertaining to a nonquadratie functional subject to nonlinear constraints. These examples demonstrate the feasibility as well as the convergence characteristics of the sequential conjugate gradient-restoration algorithm.

摘要:
The synthesis of observers for linear functions of a state vector is considered. A systematic procedure is developed for generating and testing dynamical systems of increasing dimension until certain key observer equations, interpreted in a geometrical sense, are satisfied. This yields a characterization of the candidate observer of least possible order that satisfies all the requirements for an observer except, perhaps, stability. An extension of the basic procedure yields characterization of higher-order candidate observers. The minimal-order observer problem is solved by checking these candidate observers, in order of increasing dimension, for stabilizability or pole assignability using the free parameters in their characterizations. The techniques developed are illustrated by means of numerical examples.

摘要:
In this paper it is shown that a branch point on a gain surface corresponds to a branch point or stationary point on the corresponding frequency surface and vice versa. The topological equivalence between the two surfaces is also established.

摘要:
A technique is presented for obtaining optimum reduced-order models for multi-input, multi-output, linear, time-invariant systems with step and other forms of input. The reduced model approximates in the sense of minimum mean square error to the transient portion of the system response, while the steady-state portion is matched exactly.

摘要:
A transfer function form, in thezdomain, of the discrete time stationary algebraic Riccati equation is investigated. A discrete generalized spectral factorization technique that copes with unstable plants is introduced. This factorization is used to provide an efficient way for solving the Riccati equation and the proposed method is easily extended to cope, in the filtering problem, with coloured signals. The superiority of its computational method for systems having a small number of inputs and outputs is discussed.

摘要:
A suboptimal dynamic compensator to be used in conjunction with the ordinary discrete-time Kalman filter is derived. The resultant compensated Kalman filter has the property that steady-state bias estimation errors, resulting from modelling errors, are eliminated. The implementation of the compensated Kalman filter involves the use of accumulators in the residual channels in addition to the nominal dynamic model of the stochastic system.

摘要:
The paper deals with the problem of stability of large-scale interconnected systems with a two-level control subjected to structural perturbations. By means of Lyapunov vectors function, sufficient degrees of stability for each isolated subsystem are determined in order that the overall structure remains stable when perturbations occur between the two levels of control. Numerical features are discussed by means of two examples.
