摘要:
A time-domain method of analysis is presented for the determination of the output mean square values of time-in variant linear systems when subjected to stationary random inputs. Starting with the system unit impulse response function, the system autocorrelation function is derived and a convolution integral theorem for autocorrelation functions is used to give a precise formulation for the output mean square values requiring just a small number of matrix operations. Standard results for a range of input autocorrelation functions are tabulated.

摘要:
Necessary conditions for optimality and a method of steepest ascent based on second variations arc derived for the deterministic optimal control problem in systems described by non-linear differential-difference equations. The algorithm is used to determine tho optimal time-varying proportional gain for the control of a continuous stirred tank reactor with a single exothermic reaction. The control loop is assumed to contain a pure time delay. Extension to the adaptive control ease is suggested.

摘要:
The purpose of this paper is to determine the linear optimal filtering algorithm for a message generated by noisy observations of a linear dynamic system with state-dependent, stochastic disturbances. These disturbances can be considered as stochastic parameter variations. As a consequence of the state-dependent noiso the message process is non-Gaussian. Hence the filter obtained by solving the Wiener-Hopf equation is only the optimal linear operation on the data. The optimal filter is non-linear. Unfortunately the dynamical equations for optimal nonlinear filtering can only be solved approximately. We show that one approximation reduces to the linear optimal filter. As an application we determine the linear optimal filter for a second-order system. This example provides us with a comparison of the performance of the linear optimal filter with a filter designed neglecting the presence of the state-dependent disturbances.

摘要:
This paper presents a technique for designing an approximately optimal feedback controller in a distributed parameter system. The problem investigated is a one-dimensional heat conduction system, The controller is designed by minimizing the difference in the performance measures between the one obtained for the optimal open loop control and the one obtained for the approximately optimal feedback control. The optimal open loop control is computed by means of the simplex method of linear programming. An approximately optimal feedback controller is designed using a gradient technique in the parameter sSpace to determine the best parameters and a search technique to determine the best spatial coordinates of the controller. The effect of the boundary conditions on the best parameters is discussed.

摘要:
Equations for parameter identification based on sinusoidal response information at two test frequencies are developed for identifying three unknown parameters including the gain constant, and either a pair of poles, or a pole-zero combination of the open-loop transfer function of a system. The technique of phase equivalent reduction is applied at the two test frequencies to simplify the derivation of the identification equations. The method is extended for the general problem of identifyingnunknown parameters. The generalized procedure is illustrated for identifying three and four unknowns. Limitations of the method, in applying it to higher order systems, are pointed out.

摘要:
A systematic procedure is given For digital computation of a sub-optimal non-linear Feedback controlu = φ(x), |φ| ≤ 1, For a systemx=Ax—Bu + Cw, wherewis Gaussian white noise. The performance criterion is expected quadratic cost relative to the stationary probability distribution ofx. A control of form φ(x) = sat (f'xor sgn (f'x) is obtained, by a combination of dynamic programming and statistical linearization; computation time is a few seconds. Applications are given to design of an eighth-order attitude control and of a second-order tracking system. For the latter system, the elliptic differential equation of dynamic programming is solved by finite differences to yield the true optimal control, and results are compared with those for the sub-optimal control. It is shown finally how the procedure can be modified if the observations of tho stato include additive noise.

摘要:
This paper deals with a now interpretation of synchro principles. Approximate equations for currant and torque in a synchro may be established directly from synchronous machine theory. However, this analysis is built up from fundamental laws in order to establish a theory especially adapted to synchros.
