摘要:
Sensitivity analysis is applied to the design of the linear regulator with quadratic performance index. A Taylor expansion is used to develop expressions for sensitivity coefficients to second order for variations in the state feedback coefficients. The expression for second-order sensitivity at the optimum is particularly simple, and is applied to tho problem of designing a sub-optimal controller with incomplete state feedback.

摘要:
The operating point at which a plant (or process) can provide the best output of a quality criterion associated with this plant may be determined and maintained by a hill-climbing regulator (extremum control system) regardless of normal or unpredictable variations in plant characteristics and exterior perturbations. The controller described in this article is simple in farm, but it is rapid, stable, and capable of high precision. The attractive performance of the regulator results from the use of readily available a priori information, such as the dynamics of the plant and the shape of the non-linear and extremal characteristic representing the quality criterion.

摘要:
The instrument has been fabricated using ‘Velodyne’as one of its components applying the principle of a speed control system. The applications of the instrument for the measurement of viscosities of liquids, frictional torque of small bearings and performance characteristics of miniature size electrical motors have been explained and the results of the tests conducted are provided.

摘要:
An admissible minimax estimate for the terminal state of a linear discrete system with an unknown control sequence is derived with respect to a generalized quadratic loss function. This loss function is quadratic in both the terminal state estimation error and the unknown control sequence. The estimate is derived using the method of least favourable prior distributions. It is linear, and the least favourable prior distribution for the unknown control sequence is normal with zero mean. The covariance of this least favourable normal distribution is determined by the solution of a certain non-linear algebraic matrix equation.

摘要:
This paper advances some aspects of the extended maximum principle for systems with partially specified control functions. The end-time condition, which has been ignored in previous works, is derived in this paper. An alternative form of the condition of the optimality which has been overlooked in the previous papers is also presented. It is shown that, in contrast to the maximum principle of Pontryagin, this extended maximum principle states that a necessary condition for a control-and-path pair to be optimal is that the time integral of the Hamiltonian function, not the Hamiltonian function itself, attains its maximum. If the end time of the control process is free, then an additional necessary condition is that the Hamiltonian function must cross over the time axis at the end time from above. These conditions may he combined to state that the time integral of the Hamiltonian functions attains its maximum with respect to the partial variations of both the control input and the end time

摘要:
In many investigations of system identification, severe restrictions on the system are necessary in order to obtain the estimation/identification alogrithms; i.e., the system and observation model parameters (Φ, H, T) and the plant and observation noise moments are constrained to be time-invariant. In many cases of interest, however, the system parameters and/or plant and measurement noise moments are not constant, but time varying and perhaps even random parameters. The method of suboptimal maximum likelihood identification is extended such that the adaptive gains can be computed based on estimates of the random parameters or possibly by implementation of an augmented extended Kalman filter. This method leads to a nonlinear two-point boundary value problem which is resolved by the method of invariant embedding such as to lead to sequential identification algorithms. Examples demonstrate the efficiency of the proposed algorithms

摘要:
Necessary and sufficient conditions for the state controllability of multivariable time-invariant linear systems with input-derivative control are derived. The conditions ore expressed explicitly in terms of the plant and input matrices associated with systems of this class. The relationship between state controllability and eigenvalue assignability for such systems is also discussed
