摘要:
A design procedure for the measurement process is proposed to decrease the computational burden of state estimation in linear discrete-time systems. System order reduction is involved, which is achieved by a derived transformation, yielding an alternative system and measurement process representation that includes time delays in both the system and the measurement process. Without loss of filter optimality, measurement designs yielding reductions in the computational requirements of the Kalman filter applied to the reduced order system are derived. A computational comparison is included to show that the proposed method, as opposed to the direct application of the Kalman filter, can yield large reductions in the filter computation time.

摘要:
The purpose of this paper is to present sufficient conditions for the stochastic observability of noisy non-linear systems. First, the stochastic observability is defined and then an estimation algorithm of the system state is constructed for the given noisy non-linear stochastic system. Secondly, by using a stochastic Lyapunov-like approach, sufficient conditions of the stochastic observability are shown for non-linear systems with state dependent noise and also with state independent noise. Finally, for the purpose of supporting the theoretical aspects developed here, results of digital simulation studies are demonstrated.

摘要:
A stability analysis of non-linear systems, represented by a set of first-order differential equations, is performed by examination of the structural properties of these equations. These properties are mapped into a vector field which enables the transient motion to be expressed as a resultant of gradient and rotational components. It is shown how this approach can usefully supplement other well-known techniques.

The theory of hierarchical multi-level control of large systems has, to this date, taken two apparently unrelated routes ; one is the general set theoretic approach of Mesarovicet al., and the other is the functional approach of Pearson and others. In this paper the relation between the two approaches will be given and it will be shown how they complement each other in forming a unified theory of multi-level optimal control.

The paper presents a refined analysis of the influence of initial data on dynamic behaviour and stability properties of non-stationary systems. As a result, new stability properties are discovered and defined as well as the corresponding stability domains. Furthermore, general necessary conditions are established for asymptotic stability of the unperturbed motion of these systems, the instantaneous asymptotic stability domain of which can be either time-invariant or time-varying and then possibly asymptotically contractive. It is shown that the classical Lyapunov stability conditions cannot be applied to the stability test as soon as the system instantaneous domain of asymptotic stability is asymptotically contractive. In order to investigate asymptotic stability of the motion in such cases novel criteria are established. Under the criteria the Eulerian derivative of a system Lyapunov function may be non-positive only and still guarantee asymptotic stability of the unperturbed motion

摘要:
The purpose of this paper is to investigate the structural properties of the decentralized time-invariant linear multivariable systems in connection with the problems of disturbance localization and output decomposition. In the first, the necessary and sufficient conditions under which the disturbance localization is possible, by applying local state feedback laws, are given. The conditions are also stated in both cases of ordinary (centralized) systems with imperfect state measurement and of those with output measurement. In the second, the problem of output decomposition in decentralized linear multivariable systems is proposed, and the necessary and sufficient conditions of problem solvability are derived.

A proof of the maximum principle is presented which is extremely general and, at the simple time, simple in its details and very explicit. Apart from its intrinsic merit, it is hoped that the method of proof will help simplify adaptation of the principle to novel applications and generalize existing adaptations in areas such as the distributed-parameter and stochastic system areas.
