摘要:
We establish structural controllability results for matrix pairs [A, B] whereA=A0+ Σ μiAi,B=B0+ σ μi, Bi, with theAi,Bi, fixed, and the μi, free scalar parameters. The results characterize structural controllability in several ways, via tests involving the checking of the rank or the evaluation of the determinant of various constant matrices formed from theAi,Bi. A number of the results used as intermediate results tests for a full rank property of matrix nets, i.e. tests that check ifM=M0+ ΣμiMiprescribed, μivariable, has full rank for almost all μi.

摘要:
A sufficient condition that a 2-input 2-output system can be decoupled at sampling instants by a sampled-data state feedback is given, where it is assumed that the sampling period can be chosen arbitrarily. An important consequence obtained from this result is that a large class of systems which cannot be decoupled continuously can be decoupled at sampling instants. The result of simulation suggests that this scheme may be used as a means of quasi-decoupling.

摘要:
This paper is concerned with eigenvalue assignment in a two-machine, infinite bus, two-terminal HVDC system. A continuations algorithm is used to design decentralized state feedback controllers which assign the eigenvalues of the linearized power system to specified locations. The decentralized feedbacks take the form of current modulation at the rectifier and voltage modulation at the inverter.

摘要:
The least-squares method in system identification leads generally to biased parameter estimates. A conceptually simple modification is to estimate the bias and to compute compensated parameter estimates. When white output noise is the only disturbance this principle (compensated least squares, CLS) can readily be used to obtain consistent estimates. The main purpose of the paper is to investigate the accuracy of the parameter estimates obtained when the CLS method is used. It is proved that the estimates are asymptotically gaussian distributed. An explicit expression for the covariance matrix is given. It is also shown that a commonly used instrumental variable method gives (asymptotically) better accuracy than the compensated least-squares method.

摘要:
Consistency conditions for instrumental-variable methods applied to Hammerstein models are derived and analysed. It is necessary to have a model that is not over-parametrized and an input that is ‘ strongly persistently exciting ’, i.e. the inputs and their powers are jointly persistently exciting. Some specific choices of the instruments are proved to give consistency. Those instruments are formed as filtered inputs and powers of the input. Consistency can be guaranteed if either the input is white noise or if a certain transfer function is positive-real. The vector of instruments is, in general, of larger dimension than the parameter vector. It is shown then that a non-singular linear transformation of the instruments gives a new and still consistent estimate. Some simulations using the IV variants proposed in this paper are also included.

摘要:
A design technique using only Bode plots and Root loci is proposed for two-by-two systems. Classical specifications are used, and bandwidth design of multivariable systems is introduced. This also suggests the use of input filters to reduce interaction. Diagonal loop compensators are designed independently, but Rosenbrock's conditions for diagonal dominance need not be satisfied.

摘要:
Some methods for determining the number of branches of multivariable root loci which are located on the real axis at a given point are obtained by using frequency domain methods. An equation for the number of branches is given for the general case, and simpler results for the special cases when the transfer functionG(s)has size 2 × 2, and whenG(s)is symmetric, are also presented.

摘要:
This paper presents a Poisson moment functional (PMF) approach to parameter identification in lumped linear continuous systems in a noisy environment. The method is based on initially Kalman-filtering the PMFs and then employing them in the established general algorithms. This Kalman-filtered Poisson moment Functional (KFPMF) method is shown to be superior to the conventional least squares approach through an illustrative example.

摘要:
Feedback synthesis of optimal saturating controls for linear systems is considered. An integral cost is introduced, with integrand comprised of quadratic and certain non-quadratic functions of the state. The latter (non-quadratic) functions are chosen so as to regularize the problem in the sense that an explicit feedback solution, of particularly simple form, is obtained. Finite and semi-infinite time horizon formulations are treated and several examples are presented.
