摘要:
Developed in this paper is a frequency domain design methodology for disturbance rejection in a MISO plant which has a special parallel structure. Shown in this paper is that it is not necessary to close all the parallel loops in order to achieve the hard time domain constraints. The proposed methodology is applied to the idle speed control of a fuel-injected engine.

摘要:
A method for the dynamic inversion of a class of SISO nonlinear, boundary-controlled distributed systems is developed. Based on recent results in the manipulation of flexible robots, the new technique is shown to have very good convergence properties. Implementation of the algorithm is discussed, and experimental results are given from a full-scale ocean towing experiment with a long cable.

摘要:
The effects of time delays on collocated as well as non-collocated point control of classically damped discrete dynamic systems have been examined. Controllers of PID type nave been considered. Analytical estimates of time delays to maintain/obtain stability for small gains have been given. Several new results dealing with the effect of time delays on collocated and non-collocated control designs are obtained. It is shown that undamped structural systems cannot be stabilized with pure velocity (or integral) feedback without time delays while using a controller that is not collocated with the sensor, when the mass matrix is diagonal. However, with the appropriate choice of time delays, for certain classes of commonly occurring structural systems, stable non-collocated control can be achieved. Analytical results providing the upper bound on the controller's gain necessary for stability have been presented. The theoretical results obtained are illustrated and verified with numerical examples.

摘要:
This paper examines some aspects of controllability for behaviour systems in AR-representation. The approach is based on the theory of dipolynomial modules and dipolynomial matrices. Explicit criteria for controllability in terms of the representing matrices are derived and an effective test algorithm is given. Furthermore, controllability indices are introduced for AR-systems. The new theory is compared with existing index concepts in the literature on linear systems.

摘要:
This paper studies the local stability properties of the motion of mechanical systems with holonomic constraints. A set of linear differential-algebraic equations is used to characterize local constrained motion and to determine local stability properties of an equilibrium of the nonlinear differential-algebraic equations. Stability conditions are developed for linear differential-algebraic equations. Examples are shown to demonstrate that the constraint functions play an important role in stability properties of an equilibrium. Conditions are given that guarantee that constraints will not affect local stability properties.

摘要:
An alternative minimum variance self-tuning controller is presented. The proposed controller, which is designed to combine a minimum variance strategy with a Dahlin controller, overcomes the shortcomings of the original version of minimum variance control and is found to be competitive with the generalized minimum variance controller. It tracks set-point changes with the desired speed of response, penalizes the excessive control action, and can be applied to non-minimum phase systems. The control algorithm is also extended to multi-variable systems. Robust pole-assignment can be incorporated to enable closed-loop system stability characteristics to be readily specified. Simulated results are presented to indicate the advantages of the proposed controller.

摘要:
A novel interpretation is presented of the detection filter in the context of an eigenstructure assignment problem. The detection filter is shown to be equivalent to the combination of two decoupled observers, with the advantage that theories already developed for conventional observers can be utilized as design aids. Detection space and detection order are re-defined accordingly, and it is shown that of the two observers that constitute a detection filter, the one associated with the detection space is a single-output system. This fact is important since it explains important properties of the fault detection filter in a very uncomplicated fashion, leading to a clear interpretation of the freedom available in designing the filter; in particular, it is proven that the detection filter gains are unique, given the eigenvalues of the detection space. Further, the formulation leads to a closed-form expression for the detection filter, and is therefore well-suited to the development of simple design algorithms.

摘要:
The parametric uncertainty modelling problem arises in robustness analysis with the structured singular value (µ), or in parametric margin problems. In this paper, it is shown that parametric uncertainty modelling can be cast as a realization problem for a multidimensional system, which is defined in the framework of linear fractional transformations (LFTs). The main result of this paper is an algorithm to solve systematically the multidimensional realization problem.

摘要:
The problem is considered of fitting a stable rational transfer function to complex frequency response data minimizing a weighted maximum amplitude criterion. A solution for this problem is provided in both discrete and continuous time and for both SISO and MIMO systems by parametrizing the transfer function and solving a smooth nonlinear constrained optimization problem. The denominator is parametrized as a product of first and second-order polynomials. By adding linear constraints on the denominator parameters to the nonlinear programming problem the poles of the curve fit model are restricted to the stability region in the complex plane. To provide an initial estimate for the nonlinear optimization problem an iterative procedure is proposed where, in each step, a linear programming problem has to be solved.
