摘要:
An algorithm for the evaluation of the fixed modes of interconnected large-scale systems with respect to decentralized feedback gains is presented, as well as a procedure for the determination of decentralized stabilization and/or pole-placement feedback gains. The approach is based on eigenvalue dynamics, and closed-form expressions for eigenvalue sensitivities with respect to the decentralized feedback gains are obtained.

摘要:
This paper concerns the characterization of a linear system with respect to output feedback as well as to slightly more general transformations (called cascade transformations). With a transfer functionT(s)we associate a finite tuplee of numbers that is invariant under cascade transformation.

摘要:
In this paper we distinguish between free Hessenberg forms, where only the system matrix is transformed into a special structure, and system Hessenberg forms, where either an input or output matrix is simultaneously simplified. We show how the freedom in the choice of the transformation matrix for the free Hessenberg form can be used to obtain a unique system Hessenberg form. We discuss numerical aspects and outline some basic applications for both types of Hessenberg forms in control and system theory. We show that the system Hessenberg form can be extremely sensitive to perturbations, a property not necessarily shared by the free Hessenberg form. Several examples are explored, and a first-order perturbation analysis is given. Analogous aspects are also discussed for the Hessenberg/triangular forms resulting from reduction of a matrix pencil. The main emphasis of this paper is on systems with one input.

摘要:
In this paper we show that the reduced-order controllers obtained by Porter (1976) and Porter and Tsingas (1978) for asymptotic tracking of constant reference inputs and polynomial-type reference inputs respectively for a class of singularly perturbed multivariable linear lime-invariant plants are special cases of a more general controller derived from multivariable servomechanism theory. These controllers essentially consist of a servocompensator, a stabilizing control law and a reduced-order observer.

摘要:
In this paper a multirate digital control design of an optimal regulator is investigated via singular perturbation theory. It is shown that the singularity perturbed continuous-time regulator leads, under slow and fast sampling rates, to two different discrete-time versions. They are decomposed into slow and fast subsystems, and then these solutions are combined in a proper way. Within the framework of such a decomposition-coordination principle, a multirate control design is developed naturally. Furthermore, the problem of the asymptotic stability of a multirate controlled system is investigated and the relationship between the original continuous-time version and the multirate controlled version is discussed.

摘要:
A direct and simple design algorithm for the problem of simultaneously deadbeat tracking a prespecified class of inputs by only one controller is presented. This novel approach is based on polynomial algebra and the principle of system realizability. Without solving linear polynomial diophantine equations, the proposed procedure consists of solving a set of linear equations depending on system dynamics, and yields the deadbeat controller in a compact form well suited for system with inaccessible states and changeable reference signals. Since all solutions are described in a parametric form, some performance criteria can be easily incorporated as well. Examples are presented to illustrate the usefulness and computational easiness of this simple design algorithm.

摘要:
This paper summarizes a methodology for the design of servomechanism controllers for multivariate plants and reference/disturbance signals which may be uncertain or weakly non-linear. This framework represents a departure from the idealized tracking/disturbance rejection problem in the direction of realistic design considerations. The objective becomes ‘good’, though not exact, error regulation for applied signals which may be unknown or random in nature.

摘要:
There has appeared in the past decade a quantitative feedback synthesis for uncertain multiple-input-multiple-outputn × nplants, based on Schauder's fixed point theorem. This paper is devoted to the extension of the quantitative feedback theory to uncertainm × nplantsP, m > n. Pis imbedded in a feedback system with compensation operators F, G and provision for command inputs r into the system. There is given a set of acceptable plant outputs. F and G are to be designed so that in response to r, the plant outputs y will be inside the assigned performance bounds, despite the uncertainty in P.

摘要:
Dynamical systems composed of symmetrically interconnected identical subsystems are modelled and analysed. It is shown that the performance of the subsystems operating within the whole system can be exactly described by a state-space model of order twice the order of the isolated subsystem. Because of the conformity of the subsystem performance this is true even for strong interactions. The controllability, observability and existence of decentralized fixed modes can be tested by means of low-order models. Considering systems with an asymptotically infinite number of subsystems, necessary and sufficient conditions are derived on the subsystem dynamics and the interconnections for being cooperative. The results are utilized to study the performance of symmetric power systems.
