An uncertain control system described by a family parametrized by an unknown parameter that takes values in a known constraint set is considered. The robust stabilization problem is defined as finding a dynamic output controller that globally stabilizes the uncertain system; that is, no matter what the parameter value chosen by ‘Nature’, the closed-loop system is globally asymptotically stable. It is shown that in the class of dynamic periodic controllers the solution to this problem exists under reasonable assumptions given for a general family of abstract non-linear models. Those assumptions, in the case of a family of linear finite-dimensional models, are equivalent to suitable stabilizability and detectability assumptions. For this case, insensitivity of the design with respect to small errors in the data is proved.

This paper deals with the development of multi-rate adaptive control algorithms with applications in the control of aircraft lateral dynamics. Several control channels work at different sampling rates so as to improve transient behaviour and disturbance rejection characteristics. Simulation results which corroborate the efficiency of the proposed algorithms are also given.

摘要:
A necessary and sufficient condition for the existence of a servo controller is derived using the fractional representation approach for the plant, whose measured variables are not necessarily coincident with its controlled outputs. An independent parametrization of the servo controllers and the attainable transfer characteristics is proposed. The possible classes of all controllers with integrity in the error channel or measured output channel is also clarified using the derived parametrization.

A recent parametrization of the class of linear state-feedback controllers that assign a set of desired self-conjugate eigenvalues to the closed-loop system is used to formulate and solve a fundamental response insensitivity problem. It is established to what extent state-feedback control can be used to render the closed-loop system response insensitive to possibly many not necessarily small parameter variations in the open-loop state-space model. A non-conservative sequential design procedure is developed for making as many of the closed-loop system eigenmodes as possible totally insensitive while retaining arbitrary assignment of the maximum number of closed-loop eigenvalues. The main result is a class of desensitizing fixed-gain state-feedback controllers explicitly specified by a set of free parameters which may be chosen to satisfy additional design requirements.

This is a tutorial paper describing the application of infinity-norm optimal control theory to the synthesis of sector bounded and positive-real multivariable feedback systems. The paper gives a concise treatment of the practical aspects of the theory, describing how it has been implemented via state-space-oriented computer algorithms. Included is a concise summary of the state-space approach to infinity norm control developed by Doyle and by Safonov and Verma, based on the Hankel model reduction theory and incorporating the multivariable Hankel results of Glover.

An adaptive control law is proposed to improve the robustness of the adaptive system with respect to fast unmodelled dynamics represented by a singular perturbation. The new law is based on saturation of the regressor and control parameter vector with inclusion of a discontinuous σ-factor. The analysis of the resulting system is presented and the conclusions are illustrated by simulations. The introduction of a discontinuous σ-factor represents an extension of an earlier work. The advantages of this extension include global stability, with less restrictive assumptions, and better transient behaviour.

In recent approaches, multivariable ARMA models have been derived from observable canonical MFDs, but it was realized that these models have a number of serious limitations and disadvantages. This paper presents a new approach based on the idea of observing the state from past outputs, which leads to the construction of monic ARMA models defined by the constructibility invariants. The derivation and structural properties of these constructibility forms are investigated.

Tracking of a specified nominal output within an arbitrary error bound in the presence of uncertainties is formulated in terms of topological neighbourhoods in the function spaceLκ∞ [0, ∞). It is shown that an observer-based state-feedback controller can be constructed to effect the desired robust tracking for a class of multi-input-multi-output linear systems containing uncertain parameters. The controller and the observer gains for this structure are chosen on the basis of aquantitative pole placement. This pole placement is based on an inequality arrived at by separating the uncertain effects of the true system from a nominal set of equations containing no uncertainties. The applicability of the proposed scheme is illustrated by synthesizing a controller for a second-order system.
