摘要:
In this paper we present a generalized approach to the decoupling problems of linear systems, such that both time-varying and time-invariant systems, scalar and block decoupling problems, may be studied in the same framework. We also derive the necessary and sufficient conditions for a linear system to be decoupled by output feedback only. Use of a state estimator, when some of the plant states are inaccessible, and the possibility of the reduction of its order are next studied. The results derived are illustrated by several examples.

摘要:
This paper considers the use of low-order models for the determination of an approximate optimal control of a high-order system. For a number of such models of a given system, derived using different methods, the approximate optimal control input is calculated. The result of the application of these inputs to the system is compared with the actual optimum. It is shown that optimum low-order models provide a near-optimal control, which may serve as a good first approximation to the optimum. Together with a suitable scheme for on-line identification these models may be used effectively for adaptive control.

摘要:
The discrete-time, linear, stochastic optimal control problem is considered under information rate constraints on the feedback loop. The feedback loop, including sensor, is modelled as a communication channel which provides a specified amount of information (in the Shannon sense) about the state of the linear plant at each discrete-time instant given the current and past observations and past controls. No further specific structure for the sensor is assumed. The expected value of a positive definite quadratic loss function is used as the performance criterion to be minimized. This leads to a double minimization problem in which the performance criterion is minimized over the set of admissible controls and the set of conditional probability densities for the state given the observations and controls which achieve the specified information. A set of recursion relationships for the solution of this problem is derived using the techniques of calculus of variations and dynamic programming. The solution indicates that the optimum sensor is linear in the state with additive Gaussian noise with parameters which achieve the specified information rate; and, with the appropriate parameters in the measurement equation, the solution reduces to the well-known solution for the linear plant-quadratic cost problem with linear measurements and additive Gaussian noise.

摘要:

摘要:
Popov's method of frequency-domain stability criteria is used to conduct the multiparameter sensitivity analysis of power system stability. The two-parameter parametric sensitivity mode] of a one-machine infinite-bus system is developed, This model involves stability measure ξ, defined in terms of Lur'o-type Liapunov functions constructed systematically. Based on the application of the model to a specific numerical example, results and conclusions are given. This type of sensitivity analysis is useful for optimum design and operation of the power system. The criterion of optimality is zero sensitivity. In general, this form of analysis is applicable to any dynamic engineering system.

摘要:
This paper presents an analytical method for the filtering error evaluation of sub-optimal filters in a noisy non-linear, discrete-time system. Thea posterioriprobability density for the filtering error process conditioned upon measurement data sequence is expanded into a series of orthonormal Hermite functions and the bias of estimate obtained from sub-optimal filters is computed recursively as the mean of this probability density. Numerical example presents a comparison of the bias obtained from several sub-optimal filters.

摘要:
The purpose of this paper is to formulate a calculus of variations for certain discrete systems which are governed by second order partial difference equations. This is accomplished by deriving necessary conditions for a multiple sum to be extremal. The procedure used to obtain the necessary conditions yields boundary terms which in turn load to natural boundary conditions and conservation laws for the discrete system.

摘要:
For a linear time-variable plant which can be decoupled by state variable feedback, the problem of decoupling by output feedback is discussed. The problem is solved by considering the decoupling problem for a system composed of a compensator in cascade with the plant. The use of the compensator allows decoupling by feedback of the output and its time derivatives. For a special class of compensators, the decoupling can be achieved using only output feedback. Although not of minimal dimension, the compensators used in this paper have the advantage of applicability under very general conditions.
