摘要:
The purpose of this paper is to obtain some upper and lower bounds for the optimal performance of discrete-time stochastic optimal control problems with incomplete state observation and/or with unknown constant parameters. These bounds are useful for evaluation of various suboptimal policies. For a discrete-state case, Åström (l965) has shown two theorems which give these bounds. Our methods are extensions of his in several ways. Utilizing the result of our methods, an evaluation of the state information obtained from the observation signal is also developed.

摘要:
The order of the Kalman filter equations for a wide class of aerospace navigation problems is reduced, yielding an optimal sequential linear filter with a substantial decrease in computer requirements. A theorem is proved generalizing the Kalman filter to handle step-wise correlated noise. An illustrative example is then presented in which computer computation time and storage requirements are reduced by more than half with negligible increase in programming complexity.

摘要:
The projections of a vector Ax along a certain orthonormal basis are chosen as the n components of a vector ρ. As the vector x sweeps the n–dimensional space, the locus of the point vector ρ is a closed surface, called the ρ locus. Some of the properties of the ρ locus are similar to those of the eigenvalues of the A matrix. These properties are exploited in the analysis of the unforced, linear time-invariant, dynamical system given by ẋ = Ax and for the forced systems of the ẋ = Ax + Bu, where u represents an impulse, step, ramp or sinusoidal input.

摘要:
A new generation of electrostatic high impedance control elements is now becoming available to supplement the current range of electromagnetic, low impedance devices. One of the most representative is tho crystal motor group, e.g. two-phase/one-bridge, two-phase/two-bridge motors operating in piezo-resonant mode. The basic principle of operation is the converse piezoelectric effect, which makes use of the mechanical strain produced in the crystal structure by a controlled electrostatic field.

摘要:
This paper deals with the computation of finite stability regions for systems with a single nonlinear clement (tho Lur'o problem), and also for systems with a product-typo non-linearity. The Liapunov functions arise from the proofs of tho absolute stability theorems, such as the Popov criterion and the circle criteria. The new feature of this paper is the use of Liapunov surfaces which are not necessarily closed; it is shown that this leads to a considerable improvement of the estimate of the region of attraction of the null solution.

摘要:
The problem of applying the various computational methods of mathematical programming in the design of an optimal control system is discussed. A general case of non-linear, non-autonomous, state equations, subject to inequality constraints on both state and control variables, is considered. Both continuous and discrete time systems are investigated. In case of discrete time systems, the sampling intervals are assumed generally unequal and aperiodic, with inequality constraints imposed upon them.

A method is described for estimating inaccessible state variables of processes the parameters of which are a priori unknown. The estimation procedure that is presented serves also to identify the parameters of the process. The estimation and identification procedure are based on least-squares multivariate regression analysis, and requires a priori knowledge, or assumed knowledge of the differential equations order of the process.

A systematic method of testing and realization of Boolean functions with a large number of unspecified states by a single threshold logic element has been presented in this paper. By this method, it is possible to determine many different threshold realizations of the given incomplete function. The method can be applied to switching functions containing any number of variables.

The class of systems considered in this investigation is a cascade combination of a linear memory system and a non-linear no-memory system in the forward path of a unity feedback control system. The output of the non-linear no-memory system is assumed to be a polynomial function of the input. Regardless of the exact nature of the non-linearity, the objective of this method of analysis is to predict the behaviour of higher-order non-linear systems with different initial conditions for step inputs.

摘要:
In this paper, Lie's method of infinitesimal transformations is used to generate some general classes of second-order non-linear non-autonomous differential equations which can be reduced to first-order systems. The relevance of some recently published, transformation methods to this method is established. Although the discussion is restricted to second-order systems, the method can be used for higher-order systems. Some special cases, where the differential equations can be completely integrated, are discussed.
