摘要:
This article considers the optimal extremal control of processes with quadratic performance or cost index, and with random disturbances (with gaussian independent increments) to thu optimum operating point and random (gaussian, independent) errors in measuring the coat index. Five different controller configurations are considered. Optimum parameters (which give least mean square tracking of the process optimum) are found by using digital computer simulations and pattern search in parameter space. A dimensionless parameter which measures the relative influence of errors and disturbances (as defined above) is derived, and design formulae for the parameters of each of the five controllers are found for a wide range of this parameter, including the asymptotic region in which measurement errors became insignificant. These formulae cover all combinations of the parameters of the basic problem except those in which measurement error is extremely dominant.

摘要:
New techniques for the model simplification problem are presented. If the given system is expressed by a high-order transfer function, the technique is to expand the function into a continued fraction and then ignore some quotients. If the system is in the state equations form, the method is realized by partitioning the matrix and discarding some parts. The new approach not only offers a simple procedure and a good approximation but also gives a unified viewpoint of the general analysis of linear systems.

摘要:
The methods of steepest descent and gradient projection are used to solve the two-point boundary value problem associated with the optimal control of open-loop aperiodically modulated discrete-time systems. A comparison of optimal systems employing various combinations of pulse-width and pulse-amplitude modulation is presented. Numerous examples illustrate the diverse nature of the open-loop solutions for different types of modulation.

摘要:
In this paper a portion of the literature relevant for the determination of stability properties of control systems has been surveyed so as to, firstly, provide a comprehensive listing of material which may be of some value to other researchers with stability problems and secondly, to bring forth those papers relevant to the stability properties of discrete-continuous feedback control systems with signal dependent sampling which are to be discussed in the sequel.

摘要:
It is shown that lagging filtering of coloured noise can be achieved by real–time computation operating on the current values of measurement y(τ) and ordinary filter output ◯(τ|τ) together with their delayed values y(τ — T) and ◯(τ—T τ—T).

摘要:
The paper deals with the problem of minimizing integral–square–error and similar performance indices for linear single–variable plants with saturating control input. It is shown that the optimal control can be obtained by treating it as the limit as υ→∞ of the Sequence of controls which minimize the performance index on the class of all bang–bang controls containing not more than υ switches. These optimal υ switch controls are shown to satisfy a modified maximum principle. The method enables the computation of optimal controls from any given initial plant state. The particular problems of minimizing integral–modulus–error for a two–integrator plant and integral–square–error for a three–integrator plant are worked out in detail so as to illu3trata the techniques involved.

摘要:
A measure of sensitivity is introduced into the performance index of the optimal linear system. The sensitivity vector is adjoined to the system state vector and the overall system is optimized. A procedure for selecting the weighting matrix elements is given. Finally a design procedure for obtaining approximately optimal feedback controllers with bounds on sensitivity is given. The methods are illustrated with a first-order example.

摘要:
Liapunov functions are used to develop frequency domain criteria for a class of systems in which the given non–linear characteristic is bounded in both sector and slope. The criteria include the special case when order of numerator and denominator is equal in the linear transfer functions of the class of systems.
