摘要:
A second-variation algorithm is developed for a general class of non-linear distributed parameter systems with distributed and space-independent controls and with nonlinear functional boundary conditions. The boundary conditions contain distributed controls as well as a spatially independent parameter which is governed by its own set of dynamic equations. Algorithmic equations are derived and a set of sufficiency conditions for convergence is established. The rapid convergence of the algorithm to the optimal policy is demonstrated for a non-linear example involving distributed control.

摘要:
The key element in a synthesis technique for uncertain linear time-varying systems, is the replacement of the linear time-varying plant set by an equivalent linear time-invariant plant set. Conditions under which the latter set must be so set up as to include non-minimum phase elements are presented. It is shown how to obtain the equivalent right half-plane zeros, which are sometimes accompanied by right half-plane poles. The synthesis technique previously usable only for uncertain ‘ minimum-phase ’ linear time-varying systems is extended to handle ‘ effectively non-minimum-phase ’ uncertain linear time-varying systems.

摘要:
Linear time-invariant feedback systems in which the constrained plant transfer function has right half-plane zeros, are perforce non-minimum-phase, and their attainable benefits of feedback are inherently restricted. This paper presents criteria for determining whether a given set of performance specifications are achievable and, if so, a synthesis procedure is included for deriving the optimum design, defined as that with an effectively minimum loop transmission bandwidth. The properties of the optimum design are derived and its uniqueness proven, for both the minimum and non-minimum-phase feedback systems.

摘要:
The matrix generalized inverse provides a symbolism for establishing the consistency and finding the solution of a system of linear algebraic equations. This concept is employed to find a control law for a linear time-invariant control system which causes the transfer-function matrix of the resulting system to be a specified function ofs.

摘要:
This paper presents suboptimal maximuma-posteriori(MAP) estimators of unknown constant noise covariances in time-varying, discrete-time linear systems. The optimal MAP estimators are constructed as non-linear functions of all the smoothed states up to the present time, so that it is not sequentially computed. Some approximations are used for derivation of sequential suboptimal estimators. Numerical examples for illustrating the usefulness of the proposed approach are treated, in which the performance of the proposed suboptimal estimators is more improved than that of some estimators already presented.

摘要:
The application of the elliptic function approximation method to non-linear differential-difference equations is described, where neither the degree of cubic non-linearity or time-delay need be small. Accurate prediction of limit-cycling and quenching behaviour, both qualitative and quantitative, is readily obtained in terms of three system parameters with a minimum of effort.

摘要:
Performance index matrices for the linear control problem with a quadratic coat criterion are chosen such that the closed-loop system will have prescribed closed-loop poles, Two methods are considered :the direct methodwhich is based on the sensitivity of the closed-loop poles with respect to changes in the performance index matrices, and theassociated matrixmethod, which is based on the sensitivity of the eigenvalues of an associated matrix to performance index matrix changes. Computational procedures are suggested for both discrete and continuous systems and questions concerning the existence and uniqueness of the solutions are discussed for both methods.

摘要:
This paper considers the difficulties which arise from an attempt to analyse fuzzy systems. Previous work in this area is briefly reviewed and a new way of describing closed-loop fuzzy systems is introduced. Using only finite discrete fuzzy relations, it is possible to define such concepts as state equivalence, stability and controllability, and, by restricting attention to a special class of systems, a simple control problem can be solved. The basic ideas discussed in the paper are, perhaps, the first steps towards a practical theory of fuzzy systems.

摘要:
The output feedback stabilization problem is reformulated into one of functional minimization which implicitly allows some control over eigenvalue placement. A numerical minimization algorithm that employs standard methods of optimization is used for solving four examples.
