摘要:
The method of Yeoet alto choose initial multipliers optimally for the quasi-linearization solution of optimal control problems with control bounds is extended to a wider class of optimal control problems with constraints. The constraints are inequality constraints on functions of the state and control variables, and bounds on the values of the control variables. The computational characteristics of the proposed method are demonstrated with two numerical examples. It is shown that optimal initial choice of multipliers is instrumental in increasing the likelihood of convergence of a quasi-linearization algorithm.

摘要:
The input and output matrix mapsBandCof a linear multivariable systemS(A, B, C)play an important role in determining the behaviour of the system. Square systems with the productCBfull rank possess a simple state-space geometry which is deployed in the present paper for the derivation of an explicit state-space characterization of the inverse system. An efficient algorithm for the inversion of a system is then obtained. The elegance of the results discussed enables the examination of the duality between poles/modes and zeros/zero-directions. Finally, an extension of the above to systems withCBrank-deficient is undertaken.

摘要:
The primary aim in the design of suspension systems using controlled d.c. electromagnets is to achieve an appropriate stability margin. When such a system is employed for suspension of passenger-carrying vehicles, however, a number of characteristics associated with vehicle dynamics will have to be considered in addition to the stability requirements. Some of these are suspension stiffness, damping and dynamic response and disturbance stability. A unified procedure to formulate the class of feedback control laws required for a single-magnet suspension system to obtain appropriate stability and ride characteristics corresponding to low-speed (up to 70 k.p.h.) urban transportation systems is presented in this paper.

摘要:
Algorithms based on biasing data entering a square law terminal error penalty function are synthesized for the optimal control problem with terminal restraints at a fixed time. A development leads to basic, interpolative, and control compensated-bias updating strategies with progressively improved performance compared with existing methods demonstrated from computational results. The new algorithms are related to existing methods based on penalty weight updating, the modified method of multipliers, adjoint system and isoperimetric formulations.

摘要:
The applications of generalized, pseudo and oblique pseudo-inverse matrices to both linear and non-linear state estimation algorithms are studied. Examples showing the solutions to power system network state estimation problems are given along with computational schemes for the matrices. The oblique pseudo-inverse matrix is shown to be particularly useful when parts of the system are effectively isolated because of lost data measurements.

摘要:
A method of decoupling linear time-invariant multivariable systems, which cannot be decoupled by proportional state feedback, but are invertible, is presented in this paper. A design procedure is developed for pre-compensating such a system, so that the augmented system satisfies the condition of state feedback decoupling. An expression for evaluating the order of the compensator is derived, and an algorithm described to compute the parameters of the compensator by solving a set of simultaneous linear equations. The flexibility in the choice of compensator dynamics is illustrated.

摘要:
This paper considers the optimization of a class of pulse-width-modulated (PWM) control systems via an extended maximum principle. The technique developed here is applicable to single-input-single-output systems with linear plants. The amplitude of the control pulses, as well as the sign and width of each control pulse, is subject to optimization. The resulting optimization problem is shown to be a sequence of suboptimizations via a simple dual choice direct enumeration embedded in the TPBV problem.

摘要:
A method is presented in the frequency domain for constructing standard models of multivariable systems by using industrial or commonly used control system specifications. By means of a matrix continued fraction, an algebraic method is established for determination of the minimal realizations of the standard model in the time domain.

摘要:
This paper considers a minimal order state observer for a bilinear system. The given observer is an extension of one for a linear system and can be designed without considering inputs because the estimation error is made to be independent of inputs.

摘要:
This paper is concerned with the comparison of the approximate methods in order to evaluate the values of state variables of a noisy nonlinear system by Monte Carlo simulation. The approximate methods considered here are (1) the stochastic linearisation, (2) the first-order approximation and (3) the second-order approximation. It is shown that the order of the accuracies of the covariance based on the approximate equation of Riccati type does not always coincide with the order of the practical error covariance of the original system which is obtained by using Monte Carlo simulation. Therefore the comparison of the accuracies should not be carried out by the solution obtained from the covariance equation but by the practical error covariance of the original system directly. This result is demonstrated with numerical examples. The characteristics of the random numbers which are used for Monte Carlo simulation are examined by various kinds of tests.
