摘要:
The problem of optimal estimation of linear continuous systems is considered for the case where all the noise signals are stationary white and the intensity of the measurement noise tends uniformly to zero. Explicit expressions for the estimation procedures and the corresponding minimum error covariance matrices of the estimate are obtained in terms of the measurement noise intensity and the zero properties of the system. These expressions are derived for the case where the first non-zero Markov parameter of the system is of full rank, for the infinite and the finite time filtering problems. They provide a simple geometric interpretation to the structure of the error covariance matrices and they distinctly show the difference between the estimation of minimum-and non-minimum-phase systems. The theory is developed both for square and non-square systems.

摘要:
Several necessary graph-theoretic conditions are presented for a parametrized system nut to have structurally fixed modus under output feedback of some arbitrarily specified pattern. The criteria are formulated by the aid of a new graph which represents the couplings inherent in the system as well as the admissible feedback pattern. For the special class of structured systems, the conditions turn out to be also sufficient

摘要:
The primary purpose of this paper is to codify a number of independent but interrelated results in linear, multivariable, discrete time systems. In particular, a relationship between forward shift and backward shift representations is established. Conditions for causality in either representation are presented, as are algorithms for obtaining state-space representations of a large class of causal, discrete time systems. The effect on the transfer matrix of non-zero initial conditions is explicitly shown. The finite and infinite poles and zeros of square, invertible systems are defined and related to the lack of row or column ‘ properness ’ of particular representations. The role of the interactor and ‘ inverse interactor ’ in zero determination is also discussed.

摘要:
Classical inertia theorems for matrices are used to generate results describing inertia characteristics of perturbed self-adjoint matrix polynomials. These are then employed to derive a generalization of the Liénard-Chipart stability criterion to a class of self-adjoint matrix polynomials. As special cases, variants of the classical stability criteria of Liénard-Chipart and of Markov are obtained. Those criteria are extended to give a description of the inertia of any real polynomial.

摘要:
There is given a constrained plant P described by a partial differential equation (p.d.o.) in two variables, tandx. Owing to uncertainty,Pbelongs to a given sotP. Tliero are assigned tolerances on the system responsey∥t,xx) in rosponso to command inputr(t,x), to be achieved over the definedt, xintervals for allpεpFrequency-response methods in two complex variables S1and S2are used to synthesize the system. Those methods are two-variable generalizations of the quantitative design techniques developed for lumped uncertain plants. Detailed design examples are given for two cases : (1) linear, constant-coefficient p.d.e. plant defined on semi-infinitet, xwith zero boundary conditions ; (2) similar to (1) except for definition on finitex. The latter case is converted to a problem on two semi-infinite variablestand ψ(x) with coefficients which are functions of ψ. A synthesis technique for lumped, time-varying plants is adapted for this now problem. This method may be used for the general linear uncertain p.d.e. plant on finite or semi-infinite intervals. An important limitation of the technique is to systems which are causal in botht; andx.

摘要:
Some self-tuning controllers are proposed which have the same structure as conventional PID controllers. The new self-tuning PID controllers are based on a modified version of the design method of Clarke and Gawthrop (1975, 1979). Experimental and simulation studies for a stirred-tank heating system indicate that the new self-tuners perform well and can be easily adjusted on-line.

摘要:
An observer of canonical (phase-variable) form for non-linear time-variable systems is introduced. The development of this non-linear time-variable form requires regularity of the non-linear time-variable- observability matrix of the system. From the relationships derived during the development, it follows that a non-linear time-variable observer can be dimensioned by an eigenvalue assignment with respect to the canonical state coordinates if a linearization of system non-linearities about the reconstructed state trajectories is permissible. This is an assumption similar to that of the extended Kalman filter based on a linearization about the current estimate.

摘要:
A foature common to predictor control shemes for plants with time delays is the use of a plant model. Any difference between plant and model is referred to as mismatch ; this introduces additional parameters which may be exploited to produce performance improvement. In previous contributions on this topic, the improvement reported has been by overestimation of the time delay. This paper contains several examples of the Smith scheme which are improved by underestimating the time delay. In each case, a useful approximation of the optimal model delay may be achieved by a technique introduced by Marshall and Salehi (1982). The potential performance improvement by mismatch depends on the plant delay. Consequently, the addition of the relevant time delay into the Smith sehome to increase artifically the plant delay may allow further performance improvement by mismatch. The required model delay is determined for two different locations of this additional time delay. The advantage of the less intuitive location is that the required model delay is always realizable. The performance of delay-free scheme is improved by the addition of a feedback loop containing two time delays.

摘要:
A new approach to deadbeat control of a class of multivariable non-linear time-varying systems is presented. The approach enables us to find a non-linear control law, minimal positive integer N and a piecewise-constant control input vector subjected to constraints such that the output of closed-loop system coincides with given reference vectorr(l) for ≥NT, where r(<) represents the class of vector functions which can be generated in linear time-invariant systems, T is a given sampling period.
