摘要:
This paper addresses itself to an examination of the stability of a socond-order system having a periodically operated switch in its feedback loop. There is a discussion of the desirable form for stability plots and some thought is given to use of sub-Nyquist rate sampling. Rotations are derived for stability boundaries in terms of switch closure time, switch frequency and the parameters of the fixed portion of the system.

摘要:
A simple method is presented for maintaining critically damped response in a second-order system using a high frequency sinusoidal test signal. It is shown that it is not necessary to identify the parameters completely to check the response of the system. A graphical technique which involves drawing of constantMloci, constant tan φ loci and the curve corresponding to critical damping in the parameter plane (for determining the adjustment law), is given. An example is worked out suggesting the adaptive scheme. Computer simulated results for the example are also included.

摘要:
The problem of estimating from noisy measurement data the state of a dynamical system described by non-linear difference equations is considered. The measurement data have a non-linear relation with the state and are assumed to be available at discrete instants of time. A Bayesian approach to the problem is suggested in which the density function for the state conditioned upon the available measurement data is computed recursively. The evolution of thea posterioridensity function cannot be described in a closed form for most systems; the class of linear systems with additive, white gaussian noise provides the major exception. Thus, the problem of non-linear filtering can be viewed as essentially a problem of approximating this density function.

This paper describes a method of simulating pure time delay with a lumped parameter model. The model is based on a set of differential equations interrelating the coefficients of a Fourier series expansion of the state function of a pure delay. A number of examples are given.

Plants with zeros in their transfer function are included in the treatment.
