摘要:
This paper proposes a two-part design method for unity-feed back linear multivariable systems withstableplants. First, a known algebraic technique yields a matrixQ, with the property that the family ofexponentially stableandproper Q globallyparametrizes the family ofexponentially stableclosed-loop systems withpropercontrollers. Second, having obtained such a family ofQs, a non-linear programming problem is formulated, which when solved, will yield thebest feasible Q, with respect to designer-specified objective and constraint functions. The method developed makes possible thesystematic formulationandsolutionof a class of design problems which representpracticaldesign considerations as inequality constraints in non-linear programming problems. Severalnewdesign problem formulations are given, and then solved, for some specific plants. These formulations include, for example, constraints to avoidplant saturation, and the mixing oftime and frequencydomain objectives and constraints.

摘要:
A singular perturbation analysis of the partial cheap control of the linear time-invariant regulator is presented, in which some but not necessarily all of the control inputs have arbitrarily small cost weighting. In the limit, them2initial cheap control inputs arc impulsive, while the outer solution asymptotically approaches a singular are associated with a dynamical system and matrix Riccati equation, both of ordern–m2. A two-time-scale decomposition of the regulator problem yields a slow control and a composite control that provide near-optimal performance. Further, the partial cheap control results are used to solve the dual almost singular optimal linear filtering problem.

摘要:
One of the most important problems in non-linear programming is to find out the global minimum of a given objective function. In this paper, a new hybrid algorithm which combines the random optimization method of Matyas (1965) and one of the well-known ordinary descent algorithms having an effective convergence property (for example, the Fletcher-Reeves conjugate gradient method, the Davidon-Fletcher-Powell quasi Newton method, etc.) is proposed in order to find out a global minimum in as small a number of steps as possible. Several computational experiments on multimodal objective functions are carried out in order to test the efficiency of the proposed hybrid algorithm. The results obtained imply that the proposed hybrid algorithm is useful for finding out a global minimum in a small number of steps. A theorem that predicts convergence to a global minimum is also given.

摘要:
A method is presented for the identification of the eigenvalues of systems characterized by bilinear differential equation models. The identification procedure is based on the existence of a zeroth harmonic, or DC shift, in the output of non-linear systems perturbed by a periodic input. The magnitude of the DC shift is a function of system properties and of the input waveform and frequency. After the appropriate equations based on a truncated Volterra series representation of a general bilinear system are presented, the regression problem associated with the identification procedure is discussed in detail. It is shown that in many cases good approximations of the system eigenvalues are obtained. Furthermore, a minimal order for any proposed system model is obtained. The method is robust in the sense that it employs system inputs which are relatively easy to generate. Also, the method requires only time averages of the system output, thereby minimizing the effects of measurement noise.

摘要:
The paper presents a new disturbance rejection version of the Smith predictor control system (Smith 1959) and of the multivariable one (Donoghue 1977). The method uses a dynamical compensator and can decay the output error to disturbances as fast as desired without any change of the input-output transfer characteristics of the Smith predictor control system. The design procedure of the compensator and the mechanism of the disturbance rejection are discussed. Numerical examples are given to demonstrate the availability of the method.

摘要:
The paper investigates a finite-dimensional servomechanism design for a parabolic distributed-parameter system with constant disturbances. The problem is to design a feedback controller such that the resulting closed-loop system will be exponentially stable and the controlled output will be regulated. With some assumptions with respect to a control operator and an output operator, the paper presents explicit sufficient conditions for the existence of a feedback controller which exponentially stabilizes and regulates the system. A finite-dimensional design procedure of a servomechanism is given and it is shown that the controlled output will converge to the constant reference vector with an arbitrarily assignable exponential decay rate. In the design procedure it is necessary to construct a finite-dimensional state observer in order to estimate the system state from observations.

摘要:
Two algorithms for decentralized control of large scale systems with dynamic interconnected systems are presented. These algorithms are based upon two controller configurations and result in the optimization of a regulator-type performance measure. The approach is computationally attractive in that existing Ricatti matrix solutions may be directly applied. Furthermore, these algorithms may perform well even under small system parameter variation or system disturbance. Examples are provided to illustrate the method.

摘要:
The major shortcoming of the singular perturbation theory preventing its application to practical problems is that the system described by state equations is seldom given in the singularly perturbed form. This paper presents a systematic procedure which converts the state equations of a large scale time invariant system to singularly perturbed form, assuming that, such a classification is possible. This is accomplished by appropriate scaling and grouping of the state variables into slow and fast groups, while retaining as many physical state variables as possible in the new state description. An improved slow-fast grouping of the states can result by allowing linear combination of certain available physical variables as new state variables. Several examples are given to illustrate the method.

摘要:
Override control systems have been successfully used in many practical applications. The design of such systems has been a combination of intuition and experiment. Hero non-linear stability theory is applied to investigate asymptoticity (and transient performance) of override systems using PI-regulators with reset windup prevention.

摘要:
The paper considers the Kalman-Bucy filter for a linear system when the measurement noise covariance matrix is singular. It is shown that the problem of infimizing the square of a linear functional of the state estimation error is the dual of the optimal singular linear regulator problem. Furthermore there is an optimal reduced-order Kalman-Bucy filter for minimization of the trace of the state error covariance matrix, when all extremal controls for a dual regulator have finite order of singularity, and no Luenberger observer is needed. The proof is constructive. Necessary and sufficient conditions for the existence of a reduced-order optimal estimator are derived.
